    D&D 5E (2014) The OGL -- A Lesson for 5E

This isn't quite correct. There were two burst if you will. I'll agree one was volume, but the market would have taken care of that. The other was 3.5. Unlike 3.0, publishers weren't given a heads up on this one and were now bonned. Given that boning and no support from WoTC in terms of...

    D&D 5E (2014) The OGL -- A Lesson for 5E

Not only that, but some people support both game systems. How many products has Wayne's art been on from both companies? It's a very small pool and let's remember folks, WoTC tends to use freelancers almost as much, if not more than Paizo.

D&D 5E (2014) Hope for an open GSL?

For what it's worth, I don't think the OGL was the ONLY thing to beat 4e upside the head with an ugly stick. These are things I've mentioned before but... Cancellation of the Dragon/Dungeon magazines as physical entities. Some people are still pissedabout this. Loss of fans/customers when...

D&D 5E (2014) Hope for an open GSL?

I've mentioned it before, but in my opinion, if WoTC fails to utilize a fully open OGL, fails to allow publishers pre-emptive access to it, and fails to allow them access to the DDI for insuring their material is included, they are not going to be as successful as they could have. Pathfinder...

    Non-Random Card Sets?

Now that 4e is on the end of its cycle, can we get some non-random collections of the various card sets that have been out for those who were interested in them but refused to support random purchases? When TSR had random card packs for their little collectable line, they put together 'sleeves'...

Get Rid of the Half X and Half Y names

so anything that requires a second of expalnation should be chopped down? Where would that leave Eladrin and other goofy races to people who've never played the game before. It takes more explanation I think to break down the branches of elf hood than to expalin what a half elf is.

Get Rid of the Half X and Half Y names

Cambions are half demons. Dhampyrs are half vampires. Half Orcs, Half Elves, Half Ogres, etc... have very generic and boring names. Either make them so extremely rare that you eliminate villages of them or give them an actual racial name. Opinions?

the tablet war is heating up

I have been interested in how the enterprise has grown with the iphone and ipad. usually it used to be that I never heard about the apple products being in such use but its also good because competition is good.

the tablet war is heating up

Terminology is important. Android grabs more tablet market share: survey - Yahoo! News The shipped part does stand out. But the other article notes that things are following the phone market where iphone is pretty much the bomb and the most sold phone but the phone o/s isn't kind, andoird is...

    Let's Forget the Forgotten Realms

M'eh? The Forgotten Realms is a huge setting and has something for everyone. While it can be a little vanillia and overrun with storylines pushed by fiction and gaming, that can be a strength as well as a hindrance. With games like Baldur's Gate and others out there, along with two old comic...

AD&D 1E My clever theory: why 1e AD&D is being reprinted

True but if you're posting on the boards, e-bay is usually a good resource. Now if you're willing to fork over $34 + tax right now Noble Knight Games has one for like $15 + shipping. ebay isn't for everyone but if you're only waiting for the reprint because you can't find it locally... well...

AD&D 1E My clever theory: why 1e AD&D is being reprinted

Sorry to hear about that. On the core books almost any of the 3 Half Priced I go to always have them, usually one or two in good to near mint condition. But the Planscape stuff, and 2nd ed in generally, does not appear to be printed in such volume.

WotC to Release 1st Edition Premium Core Rulebooks Reprints

I hope this is the start of more reprints. I also hope that t's the start of WoTC taking a more keen interest in how to keep older media alive and make money off of it. It's for a good cause so I'll give the prices a m'eh. Hopefully we see something similiar done for Dave.

Pathfinder 1E This is why pathfinder has been successful.

Gets ready to duck... How much of that is Chaosium's fault though? Other comapnies have taken Cthulhu bits and run wild and free with them. Chaosium has a bad, terrible, crazy habbit of not being able to make their goals or captilize on events that could push them through. The biggest one I...
