So one of my PCs wants to become a deity...

Hi, A WizO over at Wizard's boards drafted an Epic Vow of Poverty feat, which grants Divine Rank 0 (Quasideity) at 40th character level. My last character was a wizard with VoP/EVoP imposed by his god. I had to swap out a bunch of feats to replace them with that feat chain and Spell Mastery...

HELP!!! God of War - STUCK in the Challenge of Hades

Having just read your comment about Gun, I assume you're over 30 with little ability to remember multi-button combo moves? :p Andargor

    Protecting Troops from Fireball

I can't remember, was it the one where they go to take out the 88's pounding the beach? In that instance, they had good intelligence and surprise on their side. The protective German units were few and far between in the rear, where the attack came from. Plus they could rely on the German's own...

    Protecting Troops from Fireball

Well, I would qualify the arrow as "a material body or solid barrier". :) Not that I agree on the actual feasability of shooting an arrow at a bead... I'd be convinced if someone showed me a video of trap-and-skeet with a bow, using small beads.... :D Andargor

    Protecting Troops from Fireball

That would be one heck of a high AC. The bead is moving at least at 66 ft./s (or 45 mph)... I think only epic characters would be able to pull off something like that... Andargor

    Slow PC!

There's also tools for managing Send To, such as Send To Toys. I've never tried it though, but it has "Add to Send To" and "Remove from Send To" functionality. Moved from previous post so you don't miss it, as it's important: EDIT: Another thing, if an extension is trying to load something off...

    Slow PC!

What I did is disable any non-Microsoft extensions, and re-enabled them one by one until I found problematic ones. Sometimes it's not the Microsoft entry itself, but another program that attaches to it. Other than that, it's all trial and error. :) Andargor

    Slow PC!

I just reread your post and something clicked. I was having terrible performance in Windows Explorer when right-clicking, and at one point it would hang. This was due to shell extensions being installed by applications (WinZip, etc.) in the right-click menu. The solution was using ShellExView...

I believe Handle Animal will do the trick (pun intended). EDIT: JimAde beat me to it, and has a more relevant quote. :) Andargor

Unless you rule that you can do a perfect testudo, which hermetically seals the troops, any gaps will allow the spread to wrap around. Andargor

More Players = More Monsters or Tougher Monsters?

Interesting opinions, I should've asked for a poll. :) Seems like more monsters wins hands down, whatever the level. It is just contrary with my group's experience with the current finishing campaign. As soon as we hit 17th level or so, monsters with CRs of our level or less would get wiped...

More Players = More Monsters or Tougher Monsters?

But at high level, does it make much of a difference? Particularly with a strong arcane caster to blow them away en masse? Andargor

More Players = More Monsters or Tougher Monsters?

Hmm, I see your point. But perhaps just advancing the monster one HD, if they don't increase in size, should not be that deadly? Or would stat changes modify the difficulty. E.g. more constitution? Or perhaps better equipment (for those monsters that wear it). Andargor

More Players = More Monsters or Tougher Monsters?

We're about to start a new campaign, and the player count will reach anywhere from 4 to 8. My question is how to scale encounters depending on the number of players. There are two main ways I can see this: - Add more monsters per encounter - Increase the monster difficulty (higher CR monster...

    Micommunication - strange

Hi! Perhaps your post should be in General, as this is the Rules forum. Nevertheless, I shall try to help. A few questions: Is everyone paying attention to what is being said? Do players talk to each other while something is going on? Do the players take notes? Is the DM speaking in a clear...

    D&D Online: Looking good

I was wondering about the pricing model. It seems like a lot of games today are "pay once": you buy the game, and the multiplayer is free. I thought the monthly fees were going out the window. Or perhaps I'm mistaken. The upside to monthly fees is probably more serious and mature players...

    D&D Online: Looking good

I had the same opinion at first, but I read the Book of Dev, and their arguments are compelling. Basically, as a DM, you may need to change things to have a fun game. That's the approach they took. Some things don't fit real time gaming, so they House Ruled it. Although I question spellpoints...

Just a heads up on an upcoming 1.4 update. Moving slowly but surely. :) Planned changes: - Many user-contributed reports of errors will be fixed - Some database fixups, such as special abilities for monsters and stat blocks - Adding the remaining missing content types: races, templates...
