Devil at the Dreaming Palace: An In-Depth Review

What made me raise an eyebrow is that Lt. Lavarsus is not only a jerk but also a closeted gay man... Err...why, in a world like Golarion, would you need to be closeted anyway? Nearly all good gods either don't care (except for - maybe - Erastil, but there's nothing anywhere about his stance...

    Best Weird Fiction & Cosmic/Eldritch Horror (without H.P.) ?

The wonderful thing about Bloodborne's story is that, as it turns out, the Great Ones - the elder gods and their ilk - are, for the most part, not even malicious. Some are even described as helpful, others are indifferent...and some may just want something as simple as a descendant. The trouble...

You Have The Power! New Masters of the Universe RPG!

Unfortunately it seems to be on no streaming service :(

You Have The Power! New Masters of the Universe RPG!

I recommend the 2002 reboot. Unfortunately, it was cancelled after 2 seasons but it dialed down the cheese and managed to make Skeletor a somewhat credible threat.

You Have The Power! New Masters of the Universe RPG!

That movie was cheesy as hell indeed...and I loved it. Still do. Langella kills it as Skeletor. And, let's face it, Lundgren was not the worst choice for He-Man. As for the game...I'll get it for the background but I think I'll use 5e instead (I can recommend Blades&Blasters for those who want...

    Best Weird Fiction & Cosmic/Eldritch Horror (without H.P.) ?

I love Barker's works and I would not consider them cosmic horror. But they all had a certain sense of wonder to them, something that deeply resonated within me and which is one of the reason why I would probably not shy away if the supernatural were revealed as real. A dark miracle is still a...

News Digest for the Week of August 7

Ahem...I never stated that it CANNOT be racism. I said that I do not see it. I might be wrong and if I am, I am all too happy to be corrected. But please do not put words into my mouth. And I did not deny that he was mistreated.

News Digest for the Week of August 7

Yeah, it does. However, either I am blind or I do not see the connection to racism. Khelil seems to draw a connection to his ethnicity because...? They were crappy to him and he happens to be non-white? So it MUST be racism? Correlation does not equal causation. Now, this does not excuse Onyx...

Round up of Osprey RPG books released and upcoming

I was deeply impressed by Paleomythic. Streamlined but with enough meat on its bones to allow for a lot of playstyles and character variety. So I will definitely keep an eye out for Righteous Blades and Dark Places. I LOVE SF Horror and Wuxia/Martial Arts movies. If the rules are as beautifully...

RPG Crowdfunding News – Dragonflight, INSPIRISLES, and more

Weird. I find that reading from screens strains my eyes and just feels uncomfortable. Anyway, I backed the kickstarter for the PDF alone now and if I really like it, I'm willing to get it as POD or proper hardcover later.

RPG Crowdfunding News – Dragonflight, INSPIRISLES, and more

sigh I am really tempted to join the one for " They came From Beyond the Grave"...but 50 bucks for shipping alone (and I am living in Germany, not some backwater) is really hitting hard... Guess I'll have to content with the PDFs...and eventually get the hardcover anyway because I loathe reading...

    Best Weird Fiction & Cosmic/Eldritch Horror (without H.P.) ?

Juniji Ito is a good example. " Uzumaki" is one of his biggest works and it is amazing. Getting past the Mythos is hard, given how influential HPL was (and denying his influence is just as ignorant as steadfastly pretending there was nothing wrong with his views...yeah, right). Clark...

Besides D&D, what are you playing?

Besides D&D, I run a Savage Worlds campaign, Shadow of the Demon Lord from time to time, occasionally Delta Green and play in a regular Warhammer Fantasy 4th Edition game.

In search of a Sci-Fi system

Stars Without Number sounds interesting. I like the sandbox element to it. I think OSR will be okay with my player, as the rest seems to be quite different, maybe she won't even notice ;)

In search of a Sci-Fi system

Yeah...unfortunately, I have in my group a player who is, for whatever reason, strictly against D&D and anything derived from it. Otherwise that would have been my first choice as I know the system inside-out.

In search of a Sci-Fi system

My gaming group wants to eventually try out a sci-fi setting and I am looking for a decent system. Maybe you can help me out here...I am a fairly experienced GM (having about 15 years of GMing on a weekly basis under my belt), but at the same time I am no longer as easger to get into highly...

Idea for injecting cosmic horror into Cyberpunk

Just like to put this out here and want to hear if you had any further ideas... I am starting a campaign using the GeneFunk 2090 setting for D&D5 today (it's cyber/bio/punk using the 5e ruleset without fantasy elements) and wanted to slowly inject a bit of cosmic horror into it, not in the sense...

D&D General WotC’s Official Announcement About Diversity, Races, and D&D

Yeah, there are few very original ideas left in the world. Still going to steal this ;)

D&D General WotC’s Official Announcement About Diversity, Races, and D&D

I agree. He was a very anxious, scared man with no worldly experience and few worldly connections. However, spitting vitriol over other peoples because their idiosyncrasies scare you is, in my opinion, objectively wrong. Still, as one of the most influential genre fiction writers of the 20th...
