    Culdcept Saga

What Jeremy was referring to was actually a character named Goligan. It was essentially a human head atop a wooden staff.

    No more cone shaped powers?

It makes perfect sense given what we know about 4e design philosophy. I meant nothing more. Sorry if there was an ambiguity.

    No more cone shaped powers?

That's a shame, but the removal makes perfect sense. Cones will be missed.

    Way behind. Sorry.

    Culdcept Saga

Haven't played the 360 version yet (don't own or want to own an XBox), but I have invested more hours into the PS2 Culdcept than I would like to admit. My friends from high school and I still play the game when we get together--it's a great way to spend an hour, and winning cards after every...

How often does Grappling happen in your game?

Since we started using SWSE's grappling rules? All the time. Before then? Rarely.

Idea: RPG meets alternate reality game/internet scavenger hunt

I have recently begun GMing using MapTool , and, this being my first digital tabletop experience, it has really gotten me thinking about the possibilities of gaming over the Internet. I was wondering if anyone had ever incorporated elements of alternate reality games and internet scavenger hunts...

"Previously on..." - Recapping the previous session

I begin each session with a recap. In a face-to-face game, I'll usually keep these quick--probably between thirty seconds and two minutes--and only cover the most important events. I don't have any experience with players doing it. In my current digital tabletop game, I've instead been opening...

    Races of YOUR World

I'll use my first campaign of the new edition to test out everything I can. That is, I intend to include all the PHB races, probably sticking more or less to the fluff presented in the book. Oh, but I'll probably also find a place for gnomes and some other PC races from the MM, too.

    Death to the Skill Monkey...

I agree with the OP. All characters being able to contribute uniquely both in and out of combat is a good thing.

Brilliant Idea for WotC: "Classic Settings" books (and a poll, of sorts)

    (1) Al-Qadim and (2) Spelljammer are the only listed settings in which I would have any interest, but I would have to be very impressed with the product before I considered paying for another setting book.

    Cheating at the Game Table

I fudge rolls from time to time as a DM, certainly. As a player? Can't say I've ever done it, but I can't say that I wouldn't if my character's life was on the line.

Any opinions about FFVII on PC?

Beware: The PC version is glitchy and unreliable, and does not run at all on Windows XP. If at all possible, go for the Playstation version, but with the caveat that it may not be very impressive looking on your "big TV." (I own both copies--I had to get the PS version when I got a new computer...

D&D 4E Will the Tarrasque be in 4E MM?

I think that I would rather see those MM pages used on a more useful monster, but the Tarrasque would make for a good Dungeon/D&DI article.

Point of light: Katamari meets DnD

Okay. Now I'm definitely going to play my Katamari soundtracks during my first 4e session! ^^

    Beguiler class works well

IME, this is very campaign-specific. In a 3-session mini-campaign I DMed last summer, one of the PCs was a beguiler who never lived up to his full potential due to the fast-paced and combat-heavy nature of that campaign.

    Are you too serious?

I actually did this just the other day. It was awkward at first, but it felt very invigorating.

    Qu tribe

I like this. The sole problem I detect is that, although it does synergize well with the Wis-based Blue Mage class, powerful build and the physical ability score bonuses make the race, IMO, too well suited for a warrior role, but nothing in your description of the Qu suggests that they often...

Into the New World, Chapter 1: Amongst the Verdant Towers

Cleyra, ready to go the moment everyone else is, sits down to wait. Still optimistic, she decides not to remind the others that she's wanted to get moving since the attack last night. From her position ten feet away, Cleyra witnesses Enko trying to communicate with the creature. "Umm, let me...
