Another Etherscope fan here. I also play 4th Shadowrun, but I'm giving Etherscope the edge because I prefer the d20 system.

Posted! For the record, I had 125 starting gold, of which I only spent 47gp+1sp. 10 Str doesn't allow for a lot of gear. As for trade goods, the rest of that (77.9 gp) could probably be assumed to be the approximate value of the crops currently growing on the Tauwesh farm.

Great ideas in this thread. I'm reminded of Shadow of the Colossus.

I wouldn't mind seeing goblin presented as a PC race in the PHB, but the monsters podcast seems to suggest very strongly that goblins (along with gnolls) will be getting the full monster treatment in the MM.

I like both races and have used both extensively in my campaign, but, because I had to choose, I gave the final vote to the illumian.

Both of these spells can be found in the 3.5 PHBII. This, of course, doesn't exclude them from being in 4e, but we shouldn't assume that they are based on this "preview."

Agreed. Plus, I consider a certain degree of anachronism to be a feature, rather than a flaw, of many roleplaying games.

My references to debt and interest were not intended to be monetary. In this community, survival is a shared responsibility to which each individual is expected to contribute. I referred to a failure to live up to this responsibility in terms of a perceived "debt." Sorry for the confusion.

I'm still thinking of playing a marshal, perhaps a young farmer (and self-appointed farm overseer) from one of the outlying thorps with a knack for mathematics and a penchant for offering advice, even when it isn't welcome. Maybe linked to Eriboea.

Would the marshal, as the precursor to 4e's warlord, be one of the available classes?

Consider me interested! I'm hoping to run a human-centric "points of light" game before 4e comes around as well, and I would love the opportunity to play in one also.
