Heroes of Gracia - Missing Gen Con Sale

It has come to my attention that people like getting things for cheap. I have also recently become aware that many people are sadly stuck at home and unable to attend the magnificent gaming convention, Gen Con, which is going on right now. As luck would have it, I'm one of those people. So, to...

Review Some Fiction, Get Some Fiction

To date, I've released three episodes of my episodic fiction series, The Heroes of Gracia, and I'm excited to keep moving forward with it. Currently, I'm writing a certain novel for a gaming publisher (can't talk much about specifics right now), so the series is on a short break, but rest...

    Confidence in WotC

It's worth mentioning that while WotC's record on electronic D&D products isn't so great, they did manage to get Magic Online off the ground, and it was good. In fact, I was there for the launch. I haven't checked in on it for a long while, so I don't know if it's still good, but in my mind it...

    Confidence in WotC

I think that WotC does a brilliant job managing D&D when they listen to their better angels. I also think that 5E is looking like a giant step in the right direction, so it's entirely possible that this will be great. Without any implied reflection on other companies who are also doing great...

Piratecat Told Me To Post This Here

I remember the cardinal rule about rep comments (or XP comments, as they are here) is that you don't talk about rep comments. Of course, that was back when I cared about the messageboard rep system. Nevertheless, I'm really grateful that so many of you have welcomed me back. Since I have some...

    City-States

Definitely look to anceitn Greece, particularly the Classical era. One thing you might want to consider is that even though the cities are sovereign states, they also might very well band together to form alliances (see the Delian League and the Peloponnesian League). In the case of the Delian...

Piratecat Told Me To Post This Here

On that point, I'd have to refer you to Greg Dent and Todd Morasch, who own Epidemic Press, the current publishers of Oathbound. While I'd love to write more Oathbound material (if I could find the time for it, ironically enough), it's their world and I haven't heard plans for anything new...

Piratecat Told Me To Post This Here

I also might have had something to do with the 3rd edition Death Knight, and then I followed that up with the Pathfinder Graveknight, which is, as far as I'm concerned, the superior version of that particular adversary.

Piratecat Told Me To Post This Here

Indeed, aside from the fact that they'd been hinted at before in previous FR products, the Sarrukh were my creation (with, I might add, oversight from the RPG R&D department). I'm still pretty proud of that piece, though I'd do a massive revision if I had the chance. ;)

Piratecat Told Me To Post This Here

Do you like to read? So maybe you remember me from D&D 3.5 with such books as The Book of Exalted Deeds, a couple of Forgotten Realms sourcebooks, and a whole slew of D20 products. I admit, I'm not around much anymore. Facebook is more or less where I live these days, and for the past two...

    The Vacant Forge Released

Just an FYI, I've released either a long story or a short novella called The Vacant Forge, which is the first volume in the series called The Heroes of Gracia. The Vacant Forge is a fantasy story set in a shared world called the Endlands, which was created by Scott Fitzgerald Gray, and shared...

    [January] What are you reading?

I'm about halfway through The Gates of Fire Amazon.com: Gates of Fire eBook: Steven Pressfield: Kindle Store I'm also reading the third book in the Star Trek Destiny series, by David Mack. If I have time to get through those, I'll probably start on the first book of Jack Campbell's Lost Fleet...

Echoes of Olympus: A Novella - Now FREE Through the Kindle Store

Thanks Mark, that's how I see it too. I've been a fan of FR for decades. I'm a big fan of Ed Greenwood, so I consider this sort of praise form him about as high an honor as I could hope for. While this book has almost nothing to do with FR, you'll find that the fantasy roots do show through.
