Well, MMOs are ALWAYS going to be in "beta" if you want to define it that way. There will always be changes, additions, tweeks, and re-balancing that occurs through the life of a game. So with that in mind, you're always going to be paying to play a "beta" no matter the MMO.

In my (limited) experience, we've been about to get through 3 to 4 fights within a 4hr gaming period. In 3E, we could only get through 1 combat per night.

Leveling actually seems slower to me. Normally we can hit 2nd level by the end of one 4 hr session. Its taken us 2.5 sessions to hit 2nd level. Not sure how the higher levels play out yet.
