    D&D 4E 4e Monster List - Dwarven Nosepicker & Elven Butt Scratcher

Wow, really? I thought the 4e Pit Fiend looked like a really cool monster. It lost maybe 30 abilities I'd probably never use, but retained (through rituals) the oportunity to have it do whatever the plot called for. I especially liked the ability to throw minion bombs!

Oh good, back on topic. If the Ranger is picking up and throwing rocks, the Rogue grabs a pointy stick, and the Fighter picks up a big stick to use as a makeshift club, then they are all continuing to fight at a disadvantage. I'm pretty sure that the Wizard will be at a disadvantage too, but...

*Groan.* Next we'll be discussing bonuses to charm and enchantment spells with orbs. I think we were safer with the Harry Potter references.

    Podcast: Drow Warrior 1 Usefullness

You've got to take any poll result with a grain of salt... essentially all polls are loaded one way or the other. I thought the example they gave in the podcast was a very good one, though, hence this poll. It's also been made clear that if you want to add class levels, templates, etc. to...

    D&D 4E 4e Monster List - Dwarven Nosepicker & Elven Butt Scratcher

Hmm. Solo-izing a monster sounds pretty cool. I wonder if the section goes on to discuss solo-izing a PC if you want to play a one on one game? My guess is that would be more complicated, though.

    Tempest Fugit

We all cluster together, like a her of horses waiting out a storm, placing the magical mounts on the inside to give them greatest protection and using the available resources to create a windblock against the most direct part of the storm.

Low Damage, High HP ... How is this "Faster"?

I think the prevailing impression is that most buffs will require a minor action to retain, making multiple buffs a la 3e more or less prohibited, and even a single buff somewhat costly.

    Podcast: Drow Warrior 1 Usefullness

Which of the two above would you be more likely to use as written straight out of the monster manual? The podcast suggested that the Drow Warrior 1 was a pretty pathetic representation of the Drow. I tend to agree. Somewhere on my home PC, I have a writeup of about 6 different drow all with...

    Tactical Quotient (TQ) for monsters

With dumb monsters, I intentionally make some mistakes. A p.o.'d ogre is more likely to accept attacks of opportunity to get to a target that irritated him than an equally irritated mind flayer, for example.

    Tactical Quotient (TQ) for monsters

Wolves cooperate and use basic tactics more reliably than humans. Edit: OK, a million people got in with this before me. :o

BLEB1: Beer Run (stonegod - Designated Driver)

Rio's eyes do in fact brighten at the mention of bandits. "We can only hope that they'll be so foolish as to attack us, and not await some poorly defended caravan. Unfortunately, I don't think actively seeking them out would be within the terms of our mission for Brews. Perhaps the host will...

Siege in the Stonespike Mountains (Boddynock Judging)

You push on for several hours through rugged terrain, and though the journey is tiring you avoid any patrolls of lizardmen. You are almost to the base of the fortress. Clouds are begining to gather and it's begining to get dark even though dusk is still perhaps two hours away. You notice some...

    12th level AoO build

How about a Shifter (variant Druid.) Combat Reflexes, Combat Expertise and Improved Trip. Reach might still be a couple of levels off, if I recall correctly, but as long as you're going to keep playing the character you'll get there soon enough. You can use your spells for healing and also to...

"I don't understand this 'sacred ground' thing. Who is it you restrict from the area? Just merchants? All non-elves? If I wasn't with these guys, could I go in or not?"

Okay, where do you stand on diagonal movement?

I chose 'other' as it best describes my ambivalence. I was happy with 1-2-1-2 personally, but seeing how pleased the rest of my group was to hear about 1-1-1-1 and watching one of our members having a lot of trouble correctly calculating 1-2-1-2... well, it was persuasive. It seems like some...

BLEB1: Beer Run (stonegod - Designated Driver)

Rio quickly confirms that everyone is ready, and the group sets off to claim the magic beer. Why do I get the feeling it'll be harder getting back to Sharn than it was getting here?

    D&D 4E 4e Monster List - Dwarven Nosepicker & Elven Butt Scratcher

I am really, really fond of the idea of being able to run an Orc encounter with 5 different kind of orc, each one with a different fighting style but still with an overall orcish feel. Having them all in the same section of the same monster book is even better. Does this detract from the...

    Implements

Even in Harry Potter, some magic can be done without using a wand. Once we see how much of a penalty is applied without an implement, we'll be able to evaluate how usefull it is to disarm the Wizard.
