    Hanukkah D&D Campaign

I'm a Jew. I approve. I reiterate the use of Testament to play this mini-campaign. I'd suggest emailing Daniel PErez at High Moon Studios. He's orthodox and may be interested in the idea.

What would you like to see for 2006 on ENWorld?

Quoted for emphasis. I, personally, am interested in more indepth review and analysis of the hobby in all its forms. Respectfully, Edward J Kopp

Ever used Living Campaign mods for a home campaign?

I do this all the time. I use Living Arcanis adventures for local players who aren't into the RPGA thing but want to play. You can even report the whole thing as a Home Game in the RPGA reporting and get rewards (free stuff) for doing so (if you sign up to get them). I've found that a little...

What technology was available to the Aztec/Maya empires at their height?

Thanks for reminding me. I had forgot about toys with wheels. Comes from not keeping up with the literature. I left anthropology/archeaology as a regular field of study after the mid-90's and only read "Maya Cosmos" becuase I was researching alternate cosmologies for a setting I've been working...

What technology was available to the Aztec/Maya empires at their height?

They DIDN'T have the wheel. For good insight into the Mayan cosmology and the importance of astronomy I reccommend "Maya Cosmos: Three Thousand Years On THe Shaman's Path" by Freidel, Schele and Parker. Published 1993. I have seen it in paperback at major book retailers. It explains how the...

    Suggestions for vanilla campaign setting?

BG, I'm pretty fond of you too. Please explain how your metaplot is player driven with out any other support products. Give me your best hard sell also please. What cool thing does your setting offer that, say, The Kyngdoms or Greyhawk don't? Tell me a story that has shaped the setting...

    Suggestions for vanilla campaign setting?

Thanks for the respnse, Droop and I have already looked at the Kyngdoms and I like what I've seen. Let's say I'm on the fence about it. Give me your hard sell. Why should I invest my time and money into a new setting by a new company without a proven record of customer and product support?

    Suggestions for vanilla campaign setting?

Hey Droop! I think the recommendation of Kingdoms of Kalamar is pretty decent. It's well developed AND is an RPGA campaign that has many adventures already available for download for free. I don't know anything about the quality of advenutres, personally, but I have heard good things about it...

    Now they buy pigs

Also consider, some animals just don't have the temperment for domestication. Why don't Africans ride Zebras? Becuase they are nasty, brutish animals. They account for the most deaths by an animal in a zoo. Pigs can be domesticated, if raised with you like a pet. Vietnamese Potbelly pigs are...

    Now they buy pigs

I like this idea best. And a few quick porcine facts. http://www.bio-med-swine.com/physiologicaldata.php Notice the daily intake foof and water. And of course the daily output of feces and urine.

You know you're playing too much when. . .

Yeah, but in Versailles, KY the pronounce it Ver-sales. (I live in Lexington, KY) So who knows why Helm's Deep got it's name. Besides the D&Disms of failing various skill or stat checks, I refer to my dog as my animal companion. My girlfriend calls me a barbarian every time I use a farmers...

How many 3.5e D&D Wotc products do you own?

I've got to ask. Why? Are you a completist collector? I collect RPGs, but selectively. I collect Eberron and am thinking about Frostburn, Stormwrack and Sandstorm, but can't see my way to buying everything WotC puts out.

    RPGA Questions

Straight from the horses mouth This is an interview with Ian Richards, the guy who runs the RPGA. http://www.silven.com/articles/Default.asp?case=show&id=421 And if you're looking for a Living campaign to get involved with (there are online conventions running events) check out Living...

    Gaming Meta Questions (long)

Patryn of Elvenshae Thanks for the link. Good reading. It's made me take another look at the question of social skills. I've been of the opinion that role playing is a skill that can be learned if practiced enough. I know that's how it worked for me. Not so different than public speaking...

    Gaming Meta Questions (long)

Henry, My recommendation? He needs to find a local experience apart from the RPGA, because con gaming will lack the continuity and in-depth role-play that a home group can have. I stress that you can find in con games plenty of cameraderie, fun times, and good memories, but the games...

    Gaming Meta Questions (long)

I don't see it as complaining, so much as wondering what has happened to the hobby while he's been out of it for 10 years. His "brand" of role playing is role playing. And the things like the social skills is a problem with d20. I believe it weakens a players ability to role play and interact...

    Gaming Meta Questions (long)

Greetings fellow EN Worlders, Recently a good frined of mine from HS has expressed his interrest in playing rpgs again. He hasn't played in over 10 years and took the plunge last weekend by going to UCon at U of M, Ann Arbor. He sent me some feed back, which I replied to as best I coould, but...

How can the Module be updated?

You can get exactly this from Living Arcanis. All the adventures are statted for different APLs (average party level), except for the few that are designated as entry level for new people to join the campaign or to start a new character. There has been a different yearly story arc since it's...
