    For the first time... apprehension

That is a bit harsh. One thing that roleplaying has working against it is lack of new blood. It has to keep veterans like us happy AND find a way to get 14 year olds playing it. The game needs new blood. D&D IS competing with WOW. With that said, from all I have seen, 4e is not trying to be a...

D&D 4E What Campaign Settings would you like to see for 4e?

You could reinvision the Blood War as a planar conflict between the demons, devils, angels and such, similiar to the idea in planescape, but with the factions being involved in it and various militant groups of outsiders instead of the Tanari and Bazatu.

Duergar: I'm shocked - a flavour change I really like!

See, you keep the industrial evil duergar and aid into their mix corrupt cults, demonic possession and evil plots that tie in through specific warlords and high priests back to the hells. Then you got the best of both worlds and the ability to go deeper and further into the duergar with the...

D&D 4E What Campaign Settings would you like to see for 4e?

Those of you who either are not voting for Ghostwalk, do you not like it or did you never get expose to it? If you don't like it, how come? Those of you who voted for it, why do you like it?

D&D 4E What Campaign Settings would you like to see for 4e?

I don't think that is the case. Planescape and Darksun have always been the most popular settings. I've owned a game store since before WOTC had D&D (TSR Days) and this poll supports the attitudes then too (at least for the old settings), which is one of the reasons I am surprised they stuck...

D&D 4E What Campaign Settings would you like to see for 4e?

Planescape is just as popular for its look and feel as much as the setting metaphysics itself. The setting is easy to rebuild in 4e rules. You would just recreate the planar structure enough to give back the blood war, the factions and the other key elements and then plop good'ol sigil onto the...

D&D 4E What Campaign Settings would you like to see for 4e?

Dark Sun got done as a dragon article that was messed up a bit by bad editor choices. The reason Dark Sun is up there is because its all kinds of awesome ;)

    Wizard Traditions

This is the impression I have too and it would match up with what I have learned about the feats so far.

D&D 4E What Campaign Settings would you like to see for 4e?

New settings have to rebuild work that previous settings already have done. You just have to nail the soul of the setting and keep its spirit true as you retcon.

INTRODUCTION Power Attack is not all it is cracked up to be. Johnathan Tweet came out and discuss this in his blog and we have discussed it here: http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=212732 As some of you know, in the thread I feel strongly that the current Power Attack is not the fun little...

D&D 4E What Campaign Settings would you like to see for 4e?

Since WOTC has said they plan for the Campaign Settings to release one per year for 4e, I was curious to see what Campaign Setting support you would like to see them do. Elborate on your vote in your post below.

Duergar: I'm shocked - a flavour change I really like!

I think this was a good change. It is what I would do to make evil dwarves. It looks like WOTC paid attention to GW's Warhammer Fantasy and Rackham's Confrontation and claimed their own demonic dwarven race. It gives them their own niche and is much more marketable, the themes are scarier too...

What should WOTC do about Golden Wyvern Adept? (Keep Friendly)

As I said in another thread. My instinct on the traditions is that they are a loose collection of feats and ideas for you to build with, not anything so strict as something your character must choose. They represent wizard training concepts and a collection of themes to add to your character...

    Wizard Traditions

My gut instinct on the traditions is that they are mostly fluff ideas with mechanics based in the feats you choose. I would be surprised if you choose a tradition to belong to with your class, I think it is more just names of the feats. The class is then customized by the feats you choose...

    Fluff vs Crunch

Its more than one or two. But my expectation is the assumed setting and the mechanics are tied together more in this edition than any previous edition.

What should WOTC do about Golden Wyvern Adept? (Keep Friendly)

Well, there is another way to look at it. Lightning can be tied to Air, Cold/ Ice to water and Acid tied to Earth. So... That would give you a Fire/ Air (hidden flame) mage tradition and a water/ earth (Emerald Frost) mage tradition.

What should WOTC do about Golden Wyvern Adept? (Keep Friendly)

I find this one a bit strange too. If anything, there should be a focus on how cold and acid naturally eat and kill what they touch. Sort of a non-living passive form of destroying, verses fire and lightning actively burning things with fire and heat. There is something there, as long as the...

What should WOTC do about Golden Wyvern Adept? (Keep Friendly)

My impression so far is D&D is going much more story and fluff focused, so the named feats will likely be referenced by class description and flavor text with the feat. That way, a new player is reading the book and it is more like a fantasy story game than a bunch of hard to understand rule...

What should WOTC do about Golden Wyvern Adept? (Keep Friendly)

Ok, if the wyvern has some sort of area effect that it is deadly and accurate with, the golden wyvern tradition makes more sense when you define gold that way. Maybe they will alter its poison to spray or something?
