D&D General Drow & Orcs Removed from the Monster Manual

Ah yep, that is a bit clearer, that play piece hasn't changed so much as disappeared. If they had a statblock even if alignment now good (since alignment isn't for 100% of species as such) would have at least left options on table as such. I'm one who feels that doesn't need statblocks as such...

D&D General Drow & Orcs Removed from the Monster Manual

I can certainly understand the point of view, but if just an elf game does it need much nuance? It reads a bit like one race / playing piece out of many got changed- prior to the change, there was no problem as just an elf game, but post change there is a problem, but I dont see that it isn't...

[AD&D Gamebook] The Sorcerer's Crown (Kingdom of Sorcery, book 2 of 3)

Yeah, feels like hallmarks of an abusive relationship taking joy in upsetting / angering the other person.

    [Fighting Fantasy] Bloodsword v2

I remember Forest of Doom fondly, up there with the Advanced Fighting Fantasy / Titan / Out of the Pit books in terms of fond memories for gamebooks and associated, that one i recall ability to work backwards, as you could generally get to the end in most cases, but then find missing something...

    [Fighting Fantasy] Bloodsword v2

I know the series had a bit of troubled history with the writing process, though I am thinking of the original books, and not sure if you're using the revised versions? I'm sure you said but can't recall sorry. I wonder if some of the lies are a result of writing process issues, or just trying...

D&D 5E (2024) Testing against the Gold Dragon

Possibly they didn't think would be a fight? Something happened to change that that they weren't prepared for?

    D&D 5E (2014) Don't Throw 5e Away Because of Hasbro

WOTC isn't sharing these stat blocks out of the goodness of their heart (and I guess that means I hope they have disclaimers in each article saying they have a financial interest in releasing these stat blocks) but to drum up interest / encourage people to buy the monster manual, suggesting that...

What are you reading in 2025?

Have you read Colleen McCullough's First Man in Rome series? Historical fiction and certainly not unbiased in how the famous people are portrayed, but still i found quite a fascinating read covering the likes of Marius, Sulla, Pompey, Julius Caesar etc. I found it somewhat of a slow read...

    D&D 5E (2014) Don't Throw 5e Away Because of Hasbro

It was blown out of proportion, with a lot of false information overstating what occurred/ straight misinformation, which the person responded to. Nonetheless, WOTC still hired Pinkertons, that is a fact, and I think people are fine to have a problem with who WOTC chose to use.
