    Game Effects of Dragon Eyes?

A cha check penalty? Well, a penalty to charisma IS a charisma check penalty. That's what I thought to start off at least, but then I saw that the Half-Dragon template actually gives +2 Cha. Most of this, I presume, is due to a dragon's charm, rather than their good looks. My thoughts are: -2...

    RPG Society: The 2005 Thread

Soooo... let me see if I get this... Gamers sign up to a Society, pay a membership fee or subs, and then join message boards, receive newsletters or something like that as benefits for their membership. The money then goes towards advertising the hobby as a whole? Sounds like a huge deal to set...

Question on European Numerical Formatting, Prachett, and 'Going Postal'

Actually that's how they're teaching it in British schools nowadays. Me, I prefer commas. Don't think so, but the UK is slowly being metric-fied. Come on, Imperial is soooo last millenium! ;)

    RPG Society: The 2005 Thread

It's a great idea, idealogically speaking, but in the real world, how would it work?

What's this about a plagiarized map in Conan: City of Shadizar?

From what I can gather on the Mongoose Message Boards and elsewhere, it definitely wasn't an editing mistake (there was no placeholder that was forgotten to be replaced with the image). The first Mongoose heard about the problem was when someone reported it on their message boards. I say it...

    [D20 - D&D] Heavy Warhammer.

Hey Nato, nice to see you on ENWorld! 2d6 and 20/x3 is definitely a better idea. The way I figure it is that lighter, more nimble weapons have a 19-20 crit because there's more manuverability, so you're more likely to find a kink in someones armour, but it's not likely to do as much damage. A...

    OGL Section 15 Question

Yep, but I doubt a company would want to spend time sending S15 details to every single company that wants to use some of their OGC. Publishers would have no time to spend making decent OGC products, because they would be spending all day every day checking their inboxes and producing new S15s...

    OGL Section 15 Question

I now understand why it is so many publishing gurus say the license is flawed! ;)

to screen or not to screen do you roll in front of your players?

I don't tell player the stats of anyone they take on, but don't use a screen. I'm normally fiddling with a d20 or something anyway, so they don't tend to notice when I'm making surprise checks against them...

    OGL Section 15 Question

Thanks, Guys. Hellhound: I re-read through the OGL after I posted and noticed that. But thanks anyway. That's settled then. The source goes in S15.

    OGL Section 15 Question

Thanks, Scott. What I want to use is a special ability from some OGC for one of my prestige classes. It will probably change slightly to fit in with what I want, but the basic concept comes from someone else's work.

    OGL Section 15 Question

If I adapt a third party's OGC for use in my own, how do I represent that in S15. I'm not using it as if, but am adapting it to make it slightly more balanced.

Clueless new author looking for advice

An average cut for a sole writer of a product is around 20-30% net profit in royalties. I'd recommend finding a publisher, because going it alone means all the hassle of finding artwork, online retail sites/a printers, and generating a customer-base. If you find an existing publisher, you get...

    Define "low-magic"

I love Low Magic campaigns. Magic is used sparsely, and so is kept special. Instead of spells flying all over the place all the time, when someone does cast a spell, its something special, you know, and people take notice. Magic items can't be bought easily. A player can't just remove 5,000 gp...
