I just wanted to say - please keep on discussing this! I edit Ethos magazine, an online RPG ezine, and something we think about loads is player-oriented articles vs. GM-oriented articles. This thread is great market research! Thanks, guys!

Ouch. There goes my idea. I live in the UK, and have never subscribed to either Dragon or Dungeon. I thought about subscribing to Dragon after 3E came out, but other people's criticisms put me off that idea. I've grabbed about ten-odd copies of both Dungeon and Dragon that I've seen in gaming...

The Teeth of the Tiger by Tom Clancy. Not bad book. Good to pick up and read when I feel like it. Chapters are a bit long though.

The main advantage of PbP is that because everyone gets longer to think over and write their posts, the games can be a lot more descriptive, and the role-playing a lot better.
