Picking Attorneys is Like Picking Kickball Teams: Don't Pick Yourself

Personally, i appreciate them, at whatever rate you post them. They're enjoyable to read, and may even prove vaguely useful sometime down the line. It's not something I think much about, so on the off chance I ever actually have to think about lawyers under more, umm, stressful circumstances...

D&D General If you could be any D&D species in real life…

Probably something like half-plasmmoid/half-thrikreen, because I'm lucky that way.

You Can Pick Your Nose, and Pick Your Attorney, But Don't Pick Your Attorney's Nose

Thanks, all. I just started poking around and found my state's bar page. It's got a searchable database that allows filtering by city, type of legal assistance sought, credentials, and so forth. (You can even specifically search for dead lawyers, if that's your thing.) Looks like the returned...

You Can Pick Your Nose, and Pick Your Attorney, But Don't Pick Your Attorney's Nose

More seriously: This seems like very helpful advice to (begin to) evaluate attorneys when you've got a list to work from. But how do you generate that list of relevant prospective lawyers to vet in the first place?

"orange threads"? edit: Ah, i bet this refers to the orange "Dungeons & Dragons" tag.

You Can Pick Your Nose, and Pick Your Attorney, But Don't Pick Your Attorney's Nose

I now feel inspired to go do some crimes, just so to have a go at vetting some lawyers. Thanks, Snarf!

The "I Didn't Comment in Another Thread" Thread

I always thought of "funnel" in the sense of something that directs a flow, as in "funnel the hapless newb adventurers to unexpected new careers as chunky salsa." That said, "Blood Sluice of the Gore Mages" is clearly the superior terminology, and also I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

D&D General Greyhawk to Faerun and Beyond: A Multiversal D&D Lore Book Is Coming This Fall

That's fine point, actually. Between the illos and maps (and the other 300 pages of text, of course) there's plenty of wide open space for "wait and see".

D&D General Greyhawk to Faerun and Beyond: A Multiversal D&D Lore Book Is Coming This Fall

Yeah, we don't even have half-a-dozen pages so far, so it's hard to gauge. And to be sure, I'm not saying it'll be grogawful! It just doesn't quite sound like the more structured gazeteer-like approach I was hoping for, so maybe not for me. But even if it's not the perfect thing for me, I'm sure...

D&D General Greyhawk to Faerun and Beyond: A Multiversal D&D Lore Book Is Coming This Fall

Now having read the article more carefully and inspected at the pages presented, i think I'm leaning a bit more toward "meh". I was hoping for a guidebook or something, like "Here's a World with capsule history, major cities, sites, factions, and hooks." Something fairly heavy on the...

D&D General Greyhawk to Faerun and Beyond: A Multiversal D&D Lore Book Is Coming This Fall

As someone who generally doesn't care much for D&D canon and worlds, I think that's actually kinda of interesting. Looks like it could be a decent, lightweight overview of the whole shebang, without all the mess of actually delving into the whole shebang.

D&D General D&D Beyond change - can't see list of books you've bought

Ooh, now I'm getting some ideas for a "dark patterns" warlock.

Good observation. Sometimes the line between "clique" and "fight club" can be a little hazy.

San Antonio, TX Looking for D&D Players

Hi, doomplay, welcome! Looks like the post you replied to is very old and the person who posted it hasn't been active for several years, so you might not get a reply. But you could try posting a thread of your own, if you want to ask if someone near you has seats available. You could also try...

The Ethics of Two Way Ignore

No, there is no built-in assumption of anything. A blocker just blocks whomever that blocker wants for whatever reason that blocker decides. It's literally no one else's business. There's no broad assumption of malice, because for the most part* no one aside from the blocker and maybe the...

How big are the biggest cities in your campaign world?

I'm envisioning unadorned magical vending machines that (for 2 cp) squeeze out a tasteless grey soft-serve sludge (your choice of bowl or waffle cone), with cantrip buttons to add extra flavor (for 1cp), with options like "mutton", "potato", "cabbage", "salt", and "Goodberry Blast", which is...

The Ethics of Two Way Ignore

The blocker is the one doing any "villifying", not the community or the mods. Moreover, it's not necessarily "villifying" that's happening. As Umbran hinted, while stopping harassment is a main concern of blocking, it's not the only use case. Sometimes people just get tired of reading certain...
