    Dragonlance Dragonlance Reflected in D&D5

The Knight of the Crown is actually a simple implementation. I had created a subclass for the Crown knight, which I will post here, but any of the fighter subclasses will work. Being a member of the Crown knights is like joining a faction. Here's my Crown knight. Keep in mind that while it was...

Which D&D Settings Do You Play In?

Coroc: During high sanction, I make the character's effective level 1 level higher (so, a 4th level mage would count as a 5th level mage for the purposes of spellcasting) they wouldn't get any additional spells, but they would get additional spell slots. This would make it so that a 4th level...

    Vampire the Masquerade 5th Edition

3 out of 5 rating for Vampire the Masquerade 5th Edition So, I apparently screwed up on my review, so here it is again... I’ve been a long-standing fan of White Wolf and their Storyteller system since the early 90’s. Since then, there have been numerous iterations of their various game systems...

    “Who started it?” Initiative order

Uh...yes there are. If a party attacks a group unaware, they get to take a full round of actions...a surprise round...before the enemy does (page 189 of the PHB). This is what I was referring to.

    “Who started it?” Initiative order

I rule it: The PC initiating the incident goes first, then everyone rolls initiative for the surprise round. The initiator does not get another action until the surprise round is finished.

D&D 5E (2014) [SPOILERS] Enhancing Tomb of Annihilation

    Missed session catch-up XP

In my Tomb of Annihilation game, I have enough players that one missing a session isn't really a big deal. What the group has done is set up a base camp in the city of Omu. Now, if players cannot attend, I just play it so that that player's character is at the base camp helping to...

D&D 5E (2014) [SPOILERS] Enhancing Tomb of Annihilation

The group consists of an Elven Hexblade Warlock/Shadow Sorcerer, a Fire Genasi Diviner Wizard, a Tabaxi Scout Rogue, a dwarven Ranger/Forge Cleric, an Aasimar Light cleric, and a human Grave cleric. All of them are sixth level. The group has gone through each of the various shrines within Omu...

D&D 5E (2014) [SPOILERS] Enhancing Tomb of Annihilation

Some people enjoy that type of play-style; I am not one of them. I want the adventure to be difficult, yes...not overwhelming. Besides...the party is very cleric-heavy; one grave cleric, one light cleric, and a multi-class ranger/forge cleric. They are difficult to bring down.

It’s LAUNCH DAY For The Pathfinder 2 Playtest!

I will agree with this as well...it feels closer to the 3.5 to 4e changes. Everything seems to be kind of baked into the classes (which I like), except here, they are class feats. Adds for a lot of customizabilty...which could present its own problems.

D&D 5E (2014) [SPOILERS] Enhancing Tomb of Annihilation

Unfortunately, there are 6 of them. They've already encountered Ras Nsi...the negotiations did not go well. However, it was one of the most epic encounters I think I've run in my 30 years of DMing. I'm going to keep them in the Fane a bit longer. I changed it so that Ras Nsi did not have the...
