D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

And for PHB spells that could be Psion spells I think they should have Yolande's Regal Presence and Thunderclap (as Stomp was a Psionic power), even though the Thunderclap is not a cantrip I'd recommend for anyone but a Valor Bard or Eldritch Knight.

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

There's a few spells from Xanathar's Guide to Everything that I feel they should have brought over beyond Psychic Scream. They definitely should have brought over Mental Prison, and probably Scatter, Skill Empowerment, Primal Savagery and Far Step.

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

Also thinking back to other Psionic classes, what about the Wilder? It was sort of the Psionic Sorcerer back in 3.5e, but the Sorcerer in general tends to do some of the things the Wilder does, but the Aberrant Mind Sorcerer is not exactly the same thing as a Wilder. Could Wilder be a subclass...

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

It was probably more of a necessity back in 2e when no other class got access to the type of healing (well mainly Raise Dead and Resurrection) Clerics got.

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

The Knowledge Domain Cleric presented in that Realms UA is sort of the Psionic Cleric subclass. I definitely think the Ardent class of 3.5e and 4e, should be the College of Ardor subclass of the Bard.

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

It was Psychometabolism=Con and Metacreativity=Int, but I think there's potential in having the Shaper as a "Pet" subclass of Psion (though I'm aware the power budget of pets and full casters tend to be limited). Maybe it can take a bit of the Thrallherd prestige class too, except with having a...

    D&D 5E (2024) Chance for a warlord?

If they aren't going with a Warlord subclass of Fighter, than they have to open up a Warlord base class to a lot of things, including subclasses that dabble in magic. Like 2 non-magical subclasses and 2 subclasses that are more magical.

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

Any thoughts how they could implement the Seer or Shaper subclasses? The Seer suffers from being traditionally rather close to the Diviner Wizard, but many of the interesting 3.5e Clairsentience powers were often shared with the Psychic Warrior. I guess they could try pushing the Seer more...

D&D General Psionic species and subspecies, will they make a comeback too?

I also think they should actually try making Flumphs as a PC species option as they're also sort of Psionic themed, I certainly have my own ideas on how I'd implement them. But I actually want to see WotC try it, just so I can see if they'll commission art for a Flumph Paladin in Plate Armor, I...

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

I think they removed references to the Weave in the 2024 core books, I don't even recall them mentioning Human ethnic groups of the Forgotten Realms that were mentioned in the 2014 PHB.

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

Somatic components with Psionics are Mudras, spiritual gestures in Hinduism. A lot of D&D's ideas of Psionics specifically come from the more esoteric ideas in Yoga. Some of the classic D&D disciplines/schools of Psionics correspond to the Siddhis in Hinduism and the powers that Yogis are said...

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

A victory for me on the "Psions should be spellcasters using spells" advocate group! Now my comments at first glance: I think Psions still using Somatic components are relevant since after all how often do you see comic book telepaths putting their fingers on their temples to use psychic...

D&D 5E (2024) How's the adoption of the new Goliath types going?

So I made a connection in my mind with the Polynesian-themed Storm Goliath that's depicted as the Circle of the Sea Druid in the PHB with the Pillars of Eternity II: Dreadfire companion Tekēhu. As a Godlike he's technically a Water Genasi in D&D terms but is of Aumaua background which is sort of...

D&D 5E (2024) How's the adoption of the new Goliath types going?

I don't think all Aberrations are about horror, and I actually have stats in mind for Flumphs as a PC option.

D&D 5E (2014) Dragon Age lead says Baldur’s Gate 3 and Clair Obscur prove publishers wrong as games can crush market trends is they’re “given time to cook”

In general I think it's miracle that Veilguard turned out to be the game it was given all the things that happened outside of the game. I don't think the publisher got the right idea for what happened with the game, as one of their execs got the wrong message and still feels it would have been...

D&D 5E (2024) How's the adoption of the new Goliath types going?

Markings seem to be the main visual indicator for Goliaths beyond their size, I'm guessing they want to emphasize Giant runes somewhere.

D&D 5E (2024) How's the adoption of the new Goliath types going?

Anyways one thing about the newer Goliaths is I feel there's room for some campaign specific variations. For example Dark Sun would have a Goliath that resembles mini Humanoid Head Giants, which are the classic Half-Giants of DS. And there could be a Beast-Head Goliath variety that's connected...
