Project Sigil All the Deets on Project Sigil the D&D 3D Virtual Tabletop

It's not about jealousy or anything of the sort. What do you think the chances of you still "owning" these ten years down the line? "New edition new mini dimensions, they will not carry over" Or "Sigil 2 is built on a new engine that is not compatible with the previous engine you'll have to...

Project Sigil All the Deets on Project Sigil the D&D 3D Virtual Tabletop

If wanting to own miniatures in perpetuity makes me a communist then I guess I am, tovarich.

    D&D 5E (2024) Heroes of the Borderlands

Tomato, tomatoe I suppose. Our experiences differ I guess. Or, at least, how we perceive D&D 2024 in relation to old school Greyhawk. I'm glad that your experience hasn't been that, though. Must be nice.

Project Sigil All the Deets on Project Sigil the D&D 3D Virtual Tabletop

I plan to, doesn't mean I can't snark about this one though, does it? What's the over/under on Wizards' stepping on their own feet with this new VTT? For historical basis of this conjecture please see gestures vaguely at the last two years

    D&D 5E (2024) Heroes of the Borderlands

Yeah, putting "new" design choices aside, on a thematic basis, I'm interested to see how a party of furry avatars with no human in sight where everyone is an un-killable god at first level marries with Greyhawk. Hint: I don't think it will.

Project Sigil All the Deets on Project Sigil the D&D 3D Virtual Tabletop

Hello fellow D&D enthusiasts, I the director of digital monetization, am here to assure you that these miniatures are just like real miniatures except we can and will revoke access to them at a time and place of our choosing. Please line up for your slop. Thank you.

    D&D 5E (2024) Heroes of the Borderlands

This pretty much explains why the Goodman Games OAR series stepped away from classic first-party TSR modules. Wizards' wanted its juice back for another squeeze. I suspected as much.

    Rebellion Acquires Tunnels & Trolls

I don't understand buying something and then changing all the things that made it unique from the other fantasy RPGs out there. It's not like Tunnels & Trolls has huge widespread name recognition.

    ALIEN 2nd Edition Is Coming...

Also, Mothership 0e was a $10 saddle stappled pamphlet, bit different scale as far as buy-in goes.

Quick, while everyone is focused on the 5.24 PHB...

My very first RPG experience was not D&D. It was GURPS 3rd edition in YMCA summer camp, I suspect the "lite" version, though I don't really remember. And, since this was the 90s, Vampire, Werewolf and Mage next. I don't think we even looked at AD&D 2E (black border version ride till I die) until...

D&D 5E (2024) Have the 2024 PHB Reveals changed your intentions re: purchasing D&D 2024/25?

My intention was to not purchase unless there were big meaningful changes and from what I've seen, it's mostly been nothing huge individually. What changes were made were mostly not to my tastes (they did change some things I did like too) and more towards a style of play that I do not enjoy...

RPG Crowdfunding News - Iron Kingdoms, Moonbeam, Pamphlets, and more

Sshhh, let me dream of earlier halcyon days. On a separate note, I once chatted with Peter while having a cigarette outside of a convention, while relatively inebriated, and I told him that the Primal Order was cool. He seemed surprised and asked if I had read it and I laughed and said no. I...

RPG Crowdfunding News - Iron Kingdoms, Moonbeam, Pamphlets, and more

I'll be sure to back literal millionaire Peter Adkison's crowdfunding project. Feels good to help out the little guy, you know?

D&D General Tangent from Vecna - How Many Actually Good Adventures Are There?

I don't think there are many D&D adventures that I think are great for me without significant modification. Adventures that I think are close to pitch perfect are ones that do what the game says you can do and shows you how and also have the right atmosphere and tone ( this is part of D&D's...
