What is your favorite RPG book of all time?

I judge things by how "useful" they are at the table (that is, how many useful tables, rules etc are in it) but also how much it fires my mind and fills it with ideas and inspiration. In no particular order: Both of these sourcebooks filled with tons of useful mechanical bits and lore and...

The "I Didn't Comment in Another Thread" Thread

I don't understand, how in this thread, we haven't talked about bagel bites yet. It seems so natural.

    RPGnet is merging with RPGMatch

Not surprising. The most benign and milquetoast stuff is actionable over there. I wish them luck or whatever, but they could have the slickest website in the world and I wouldn't post there.

James Introcaso talks about the Power Roll, a change to the MCDM resolution system.

I'm enjoying the back-and-forth (legitimately), but aren't we now on a tangent about the tangent? I'm aware that all the rules are made up and the points don't matter, but what's the goal here?

Is this the boomer's avocado toast?

James Introcaso talks about the Power Roll, a change to the MCDM resolution system.

Look, I think the important thing here is that we can all agree that Joy Division is far superior to New Order and that Sharkleberry Fin is the best flavor of Kool-Aid.

James Introcaso talks about the Power Roll, a change to the MCDM resolution system.

Eh, I don't know. That's like saying you like At the Drive Inn and not The Mars Volta. Or that you liked Joy Division but can't stand New Order. You can like someone's previous works and also dislike what they are currently doing and wish they were doing something else instead.

James Introcaso talks about the Power Roll, a change to the MCDM resolution system.

That's where I'm at. I get that they were upfront with saying that they were still designing the game when they asked for money, but man, I would expect the basic one sentence resolution mechanic to not change. I can definitely see people who backed this not being super excited of this going...

The "I Didn't Comment in Another Thread" Thread

Oh yeah, I'm already in line for my daily corpse-starch rations on the way to the hive manufactorum. It may seem stupid now. But I'm just five years ahead of the rest of you.

The Tabletop Adventure Sues Geek Therapeutics For 'Libel, Slander, and Copyright Infringement'

I know I certainly didn't, because you know, I'm irresponsible about all public statements I make. That said though, does this mean paid GMs can bill Medicare? How do you code a TPK?

Basic Roleplaying: A Played It Review

Thanks for the link. Yeah, looks like it's still the same SRD (1.0) and the FAQs right below it tells me they are still pretty defensive about all the criticism they received from it a couple years back.

What is/are your most recent TTRPG purchase(s)?

I honestly haven't done more than flip through it. But yeah, I'm inclined to agree. I like my WFRP in fake germany doing cult/chaos stuff. Lustria is neat and all, and maybe you can do some "What were the original un-devolved Slaan like?" adventure or something but I am probably unlikely to use...

Basic Roleplaying: A Played It Review

Did they also update their SRD or is it still basically worthless?
