D&D 5E (2014) Planescape shows up in the wild. Tease from Chris Perkins.

Unrealistic? Probably. Understandable? When this is likely going to be one and done, also yeah.

In a vacuum yes, I agree. Though, given their history and stated publishing strategy this may very well be the only Planescape content we get in this edition. So, with that perspective, yeah the depth complaint has merit.

My biggest sources of trepidation are the format (which worked spectularly well for Spelljammer as I'm sure we can all agree) and current 5e meta to try to de-emphasize alignment as much as possible, which in Planescape, doesn't really work.

DCC 104 Return to the Starless Sea.

I never really got all the love that Sailors on the Starless Sea got. Like, it's...fine? Was it just because that was the first DCC module alot of people played for the game at a time where there wasn't much else available? I'm also not fond of 0-level adventures anymore so a zero level...

MCDM starts work on its RPG Monday!

I like that someone has a fifth level character and never bothered to come up with a name. Absolutely old school. Jump to 2023 and let me show you my three page character backstory for each of my 4 0-level DCC RPG funnel characters.

    D&D 5E (2014) How Many 5Es Can There Be?

It's a game of diminishing returns. As a long time veteran of the OSR space I can tell you the best thing about the OSR is that the ceiling for entry is so low that anyone can publish. I can also tell you that the worst thing about the OSR is that the ceiling for entry is so low that anyone can...

A Potential Earthquake in the Videogame Industry: UNITY Install Fees

I have a feeling that this likely wouldn't hold up in court. But if you have deep pockets you wouldn't be using Unity anyway. They're counting on that.

The "I Didn't Comment in Another Thread" Thread

Am I imagining things or did we used to be able to dismiss those banners at the top of the forum page informing us about a certain someone's current Kickstarter? I don't seem to have that option anymore.

I'm ready for a new Star Wars RPG

I mean, it's been awhile but I don't think D20 Modern was all that different from the first two 3rd edition derived WotC Star Wars RPGs? Though, a fair bit different than SAGA to be fair.

Yeah, how Hershey's manages to make milk chocolate that grainy is a mystery to me.

I don't like bacon chocolate. But that's probaly because most of the bacon chocolate I've had is artisinal and small batch. Which, in the world of chocolate, equates to a very expensive, non-consistent and grainy chocolate bar. Show me an $8 milk chocolate bar that is better than a $1.50 Milka...

Yeah, the lowest common denominator is the problem here. Non high fructose corn syrup is just fine in a wide variety of applications and GMOs (when divorced from their terrible corporate overlords) are conceptually neccessary to feed a planet of this size (especially with us killing the climate...

Digging Into Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk

You wouldn't like DCC then, you go and meet the gods in person at like level 1 there, and it rules.

I'm ready for a new Star Wars RPG

Not sure, but since it's just the FFG RPG guys under a different banner I expect it to be more or less the same as what we already got from them. You'll get different answers on this, but personally no. They have a pretty scattershot approach to what they publish, and then just move on. I also...

Digging Into Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk

We've truly come full circle since the 90s. We've decided that RPG metaplots are good actually. Waiting for there to be another Forgotten Realms cataclysm and for there to be a Waterdeep Nihilus and Primaris Beholders.

You know how only even numbered Star Trek movies are good? The same applies to the Williams family, Hank Sr rules, Hank Jr sucks and Hank III rules. EDIT: For the record, I actually like the Star Trek the Motionless Picture a ton. So, you know, YMMV.
