WotC WotC can, and probably should support multiple editions of D&D.

"Let's do what TSR did by the end of 2e, only more" is probably not the best business strategy.

Dragon Age 4 - now The Veilguard

You're not alone. DA2 might be my favorite CRPG. As I've said before, it's the game where you can run away with your Quran-stealing ex-girlfriend after your frenemy blows up the Pope. And I love it for that.

Dragon Age 4 - now The Veilguard

I meant me the player. I’m still holding a bit of a grudge. Mark of a good plot twist, come to think.

Dragon Age 4 - now The Veilguard

I liked Dreadwolf. It put the focus on the guy I'm going to hunt down and kill for betraying me in a spectacular fashion.

Geek Confessional Thread 2024 [NOW 2025!]

I know a fair bit about various canons. It's all meaningless. Whether something is 'canonical' has got to be the dumbest question to ask about a work of art. Canon's only value is as a trivia game.

    Spoilers Doctor Who 2024 (spoilers)

Space Babies was fine in terms of story & theme, but it leaned hard into the bad kind of ridiculous RTD loves and I don’t. I was channeling Jules Winnfield by the end. “Say Space Babies one more g——mn time!”. But The Devil’s Chord was something else entirely. It felt more Neil Gaiman channeling...

Worlds of Design: The Problem with Magimarts

I think magimarts have their place when using 3.5e or Pathfinder, which are really hybrid point buy/class systems. The ability to spend a currency to 'purchase' additional abilities and combine them is a large part of their appeal.

D&D 5E (2024) What Should A New Core Setting Look Like?

A new setting that uses the anime Delicious In Dungeon and the book where an orc opens a coffee shop as touchstones, or maybe poles, would be nice.

D&D General DMs: Do you buy and/or run official adventures?

I DM and I strip official modules for parts like they were stolen cars. In my current 5e campaign, I've found Candlekeep Mysteries, Tales From the Yawning Portal, and Tomb of Annihilation useful.

Tell Me About Your Current or Most Recent Character

My one current PC is Armand Armando Amontillado de Casa del Toro é Fortunado. Armand Armando for short. He's a 5e Diviner Wizard gnome. He is, in fact, short. Barely 3ft. What he lacks in height, he makes up for in his parents money. He's an academic dilettante who started adventuring to pay...

D&D General Which Gods/Pantheons do you use in your D&D setting?

We like to use homebrew settings & homebrew pantheons. This is our current crop of gods ageless non-deific beings who built the world, which is more of a giant construct floating in the Void. The Seven Immortals - they made the Arc for the salvation of all peoples. Boaz the Builder...
