I've been playing 4e on hex grid pretty much since it came out. Everything seems to work just fine. It has the positive result that bursts look circular--but the only way we could figure out to do close blasts makes them rhombuses. Which works ok, it just looks odd.

But if you miss, the Effect will occur--and then you could save the Daily for a later encounter!

I've long used a set of 1" hex tiles, and sometimes it does become a bit choked if there are lots of critters on the map. 1.25" might be better but I'd think 1.5" would be too large (not enough hexes in the table space available).

That's definitely BB. Also, I'm thinking this is not actually a joke: I don't think anyone else sees Blackwing. Probably has something to do with the Snarl; we know something weird's going on there, and this just amplifies the weird.

I've used OfficeMax to print character sheets before when my printer was out. It worked well enough--they use good paper by default. I thought about getting card stock but that would have been something like $1/page.

I've forgotten what Character Trees were, and how they worked--could someone explain? And I was never much on Dark Sun either, but I'm going to be interested to see how well they can make it work in 4e.

That happens to me with the Character Builder; try running the app as administrator (by right-clicking it). This seems to fix whatever fail loop tempelevator gets into.

As a quick note: when I try it, after creating the power slot and putting in a Custom Element I *also* have to 'Restore Hidden Power Cards' on the options menu, or else I don't see the custom element. The custom element doesn't compute anything, though.

It's worth noting that Xykon is the one who stated that destroying the phylactery when he's not in it would be of no consequence. He's also a Sorcerer, with a) High Charisma and b) Bluff as a class skill. He may have put one over on Redcloak...

Out of curiousity, how did they nail 56 in one shot? At that level Fireball is about the largest AoE I can think of (burst 3) and that's not big enough (49 squares).

Interesting! The PHB doesn't use that language, even in the most up-to-date errata. I wonder if that language will eventually be errata'd in?

Given that it isn't explicitly an Interrupt, I'd probably rule that it happens after the attack. So the creature does damage and then gets fried. You're the first person I know of to bring this up, so I don't know of any official ruling on this.
