Is there a helpful guide for re-speccing monsters in-line with MM3 etc?

I actually think most of the standard MM1 monsters at heroic (at least low heroic) tier don't need any tweaking. I've played with kobolds as they are since the update, and the amount of damage they do seems to be fine as it is but too strong with the updated damage and accuracy. Maybe minions...

Is there a helpful guide for re-speccing monsters in-line with MM3 etc?

The HP reduction for epic solos came with MM2, along with decreased defenses for elites and solos. So, go back to your MM1 and subtract 1 from two NADs on each elite and solo. That's all I know, though there is more. I too would like to have all the general rules in one place.

    What Would a Pirate Do?

What would a general pirate's general strategy be in combat? This should be something that can apply to anyone who would call themselves a pirate.

It's +2 Dex, +2 Con/Cha now. Which is weird at first, but I guess you can consider them "tough little buggers."

D&D 4E Essential 4e: Heroes of the Forgotten Lands

I'm also curious about thief options. Clerics get storm/sun, Fighters get knight/slayer, wizards get 3 schools, but what different kinds of thieves are there?

    Unearthed Arcana!

This sounds really awesome! This could be the thing that gets be to subscribe to DDI. I like that they're experimenting; it could open up whole new things that nobody has thought of before. In a way, it's like 3rd parties are being allowed to make homebrew stuff, but those "3rd parties" are...

How much time do you spend thinking/reading about gaming vs. actual play time?

I don't know any people in real life who have played RPGs before I taught them. That and college = rarely getting to play. Maybe once every other month during the school year, only once this whole summer. =( But the time I spend thinking about gaming? Every waking hour (well, maybe that's...

Dark Sun and the Religion skill

I guess in the end, I'd let the player decide. If the player said, "I want to be knowledgeable on the topic of elemental spirits; I'll be trained in Nature," I'd let them use that skill in those situations. If the player said, "I want to be knowledgeable on the topic of elemental spirits...

New DC Table, based on level 1 DCs and DM Screen

It sure has; check the most recent rules update. It's now much more defined; instead of "levels 1-3" and so on, it has a different number for each level. So, level 1 is 1d8 + 4 damage, level 2 is 1d8 + 5 damage, etc.
