WotC How new Wizards of the Coast head John Hight turned around World of Warcraft

I do see your points. Eberron was already too light on the setting for my taste, since I still have the original 3E book on my shelf. I can pull more setting information from there than from the 5E book. 5e happens in a different publishing environment than 2e and 3e. Most D&D settings have...

WotC How new Wizards of the Coast head John Hight turned around World of Warcraft

What is "best" is always a matter of personal taste. Wildemount is a setting guide more in line with older editions of the game. It's meaty, it's packed, and you need time to digest it. I love Wildemount. Eberron is a bit lighter on the setting aspects and already focuses more on playable...

WotC How new Wizards of the Coast head John Hight turned around World of Warcraft

I am not sure that Crawford and/or Perkins are the blocking people. They are in charge of designing and writing the rules. But are they in charge of determining the design process? I am giving them the benefit of the doubt that the design-by-commitee style for the 2024 edition might not have...

D&D General Interview with D&D VP Jess Lanzillo on Comicbook.com

Honestly, my key take away: at least one person at WotC is thinking about crossing D&D with Interview with the Vampire :D I'd be all for it. It would create an interesting dynamic between WoD and D&D...

Project Sigil Project Sigil Updates: D&D's 3d Virtual Tabletop

If they were really smart, they'd be working with Hero Forge. By this I mean: I would love to build a custom character in Hero Forge and then be able to import it into Project Sigil. Take a reasonable amout of money to enable this, and I would pay. About the same amount I'd pay for getting the...

    D&D 5E (2024) Player's Handbook 2024 Table of Contents

Honestly, I am impressed. Doing the core rules in 23 pages including combat. The rest of the book is simply a reference book.

    D&D 5E (2024) The 10 Species in "Your Ideal 2024 PHB"

My picks would be: Human Dwarf Elf Halfling Tiefling Goliath Half-elf Orc Satyr Aarakocra

    Space: 1999 Coming From Modiphius

Honestly, I am a bit hyped. This was the first sci fi show I watched. Yes, together with my dad and I was 4 or 5 years old. Before me and my friends watched Star Trek, we were completely into Space 1999.

    D&D 5E (2024) Check Out The New Dungeon Master's Guide's Greyhawk Map

A couple of countries have changed their names. Most notably: Blackmoor is now called Arn. I assume in honor of Dave Arneson. Also, Saltmarsh finally appears on the map.

    D&D 5E (2024) What Should D&D 2024 Have Been +

In general, I would have liked less of the ideas from UA to end up on the cutting room floor. Grittier rules for taking long rests Shorter short rests. Sometimes they are desperately required in some of the official adventures, but they take too much in-game time. 10 minutes would be nice Less...

What To Expect In Star Trek Adventures 2nd Edition

STA already adds the Security rating as damage dice. So I could imaging that it is 2 + Security rating as Stress.

What To Expect In Star Trek Adventures 2nd Edition

Probably that they are using that system from now on. It‘s also in the digest-sized rulebook from the Tricorder set.

    RPG Evolution: Hasbro's AI Plans

Thinks about Dungeon Magazine and Dragon Magazine. Dungeon Magazine quite literally has hundreds of adventures. Some of quite stellar quality.

    D&D 5E (2024) This Dragon Art Is From The 2024 Player's Handbook

Nope. It's a definitely a silver. Like it was mentioned above, D&D dragons are visually distinguished. Gold dragons have wings that run along the complete length of the body and most of the tail.

    D&D 5E (2024) This Dragon Art Is From The 2024 Player's Handbook

There is nothing like a silver dragon to say 50th anniversary… except… they could have used a gold dragon instead? ;)

D&D 5E (2014) Quest From The Infinite Staircase Adventures Revealed

„When a Star Falls“ gets me excited for the book. I own most of the UK series, and haven‘t run that one yet, but several times thought about running the module with 3e back in the day. For 5e, I haven‘t looked at it yet. But obviously will soon. It‘s a really memorable module, I think. Also I...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Dungeon Master’s Guide (2024)

Greyhawk would feel like a fallback to D&D 3rd edition... also not sure if that would make sense considering 5e's initial focus on Forgotten Realms? On the other hand, nothing else would say 50th anniversary like Greyhawk. The Nentir Vale would be a nice callback to D&D 4e. So far, concepts and...
