Planescape Planescape: Here Are The Disclaimers!

The Fortune's Wheel is a high-class gambling hall in Sigil.

Planescape Turn of Fortune’s Wheel photo flip through. Warning SPOILERS.

Oh hey, Farrow! Always nice to see NPCs from Faces of Sigil making an appearance. Josbert sharing Farrow's facial tattoo is a bit odd, admittedly...

    D&D 5E (2014) Check Out Planescape's Table of Contents & More!

Given that the Gate-town chapters are listed alphabetically according to the town's name and not in any sort of sensible order from the perspective of ease of travel, I'm inclined to think that at least that portion of the adventure is probably more or less freeform - i.e. the players need...

    D&D 5E (2014) Check Out Planescape's Table of Contents & More!

Don't have access to the full books yet as I wasn't in a position to do the physical/digital pre-order, but the tables of contents are visible on Beyond now. We've seen Sigil and the Outlands and the Bestiary already, but here's the Beyond ToC for Fortune's Wheel - seems like we're visiting...

Planescape Who is the Lady of Pain, WotC video .

Back in 2e, the Hive had something of an infestation of portals to the Para-Elemental Plane of Ooze, and there was a corresponding location in the Plane of Ooze known as the Trash Heap which served (intentionally or otherwise) as a kind of refuse dump for a lot of Sigil's waste. Taking a...

Honestly, I think the approach they've been taking to psionics is "both/and", not "either/or". Say what you will about the theming of Aberrant Mind Sorcerer (as of Tasha's - we'll see if it changes in the '24 PHB), but Psi Knight Fighter and Soulknife Rogue are pretty classic "Jedi" psionics.

Clearly the party's only chance of survival is appeasement: snacks or scritches, likely both.

    D&D 5E (2014) Check Out Planescape's Table of Contents & More!

A bit curious that the Storm Kings Lords have been moved out of Arcadia proper and into Fortitude. They never got too much focus, but the old Storm Kings were essentially Arcadia's equivalent to the various demigod-tier planar powers, a la archdevils, demon lords, etc.

    Planescape Planescape Factions preview

A piece of art previously previewed at GenCon clearly shows Hashkar, Rhys, and Darkwood with their classic designs (albeit unnamed), so it's almost certain those Faction posters aren't portraying the Factols.

I think there's a decent chance we'll also see a Planescape Monstrous Compendium on Beyond like we got for Spelljammer and Dragonlance.

Oh hey, Baernaloths! Curious to see how they're handled, as I'm still a bit sore over how 5e handled the Oinoloth (it's an individual archfiend, not a category!), but it's nice to see those nightmarish abominations make a return. Sudden Blind Clockmaker PSTD Flashbacks Why am I crying?

    D&D 5E (2014) Check Out Planescape's Table of Contents & More!

With all due respect, the Outlands chapter here is almost identical in its usage of page space to the 2e Player's Primer to the Outlands. The Gate-towns have always been counted as part of the Outlands, and always among the plane's most notable locales, so saying that they "shouldn't count"...

    D&D 5E (2014) Check Out Planescape's Table of Contents & More!

With the page space limitations of the slipcase format, I fundamentally can't see them having the room to cover the planes at large in any more detail than they already do in the cosmology chapter of the DMG, and doing even that much would be to the detriment of everything else they have to fit...

    D&D 5E (2014) Check Out Planescape's Table of Contents & More!

36 pages covering the Outlands with ~2 pages for each Gate-Town is more or less on par with the section covering the Outlands from the 2e Planescape Campaign Setting boxset and the later Player's Primer to the Outlands. Could it have been more? Certainly. It can always be more. But given the...

Planescape Check Out The Planescape Character Options

The Mind's Eye always felt like the natural extension of the Godsmen belief system to me, so them replacing the Believers of the Source was functionally never more than a rename and a changing of the guard for the various Faction high-ups as far as I was concerned. Especially notable given that...

Planescape Check Out The Planescape Character Options

Each of the classic Factions in the "Ascendant Factions" list (which is frankly all but one of them) has their pre-FW factol back when every one of them save Rhys were either killed, mazed, or otherwise "disappeared" over the course of the FW, so yeah the 5e Planescape is clearly not a direct...

Sneak Peak of Planescape: A Preview

Within Sigil, they traditionally serve slightly different functions. The Harmonium serve as the city guard and are ostensibly focused on keeping the peace. The Mercykillers, by contrast, are the city's corrections officers, and are focused on meting out Justice upon those who have already been...

Sneak Peak of Planescape: A Preview

According to one of the videos they put out in their first batch, Gate-towns sliding into their neighboring plane is still very much a thing - supposedly Faunel is in the process of rebuilding because its previous iteration recently-ish slid into the Beastlands. It's late and I'm sick, so...
