Always assumed the "Hexblade" referred to the warlock's sentient weapon, myself, since that's essentially supposed to be the patron (or the vehicle through which the patron operates). At least within the context of 5e.

They've mentioned an adventure module involving the Red Wizards of Thay for 2025, and something involving Venger somewhere down the line. Beyond that, I don't think we know anything. They'll probably announce 2025's line up later this year.

I think it's technically "The Hexblade" - people just tend to drop the "The" out of expediency. But yeah, most likely would need a new name if it's no longer explicitly linked to a weapon.

More or less the idea. Let the new blade pact carry the weapon-focused aspects and redesign the "Hexblade" into a Shadowfell patron viable for any kind of warlock build.

Teleportation was definitely built up as the eladrin's schtick in 4e, and I think that may have bled over into fey in general ever since. Rather than "teleportation", per se, I think the idea is intended more as briefly stepping out of the Material Plane and into the Feywild, then back again...

The portion of Hexblade that is just "look, we fixed blade pact", yes. I'd argue there's still plenty of room for a proper "Shadowfell" patron focusing on dark shadow magic, hexes, and curses, though... With a bit of work (and perhaps a new name), a revised Hexblade could fill that role pretty...

I don't know about "intentionally holding back", but they were always going to have to follow the '24 core rules up with a new "Everything"-style book relatively quickly, if only to finish updating all the baseline cleric domains and wizard schools they cut to get the PHB subclass counts down to...

May also be a matter where these are just the options earmarked for the PHB and books down the line might include familiar options where appropriate, like how every new beast statblock in a book is an expansion to a druid's wild shape form options. The '14 Monster Manual had an Imp statblock...

I got the opposite impression, for the most part. They said that a lot of existing invocation prerequisites were lowered, but also that some invocations that didn't previously have prerequisites now do - presumably the ones that they don't want available immediately at level 1 for whatever reason.
