D&D General Teased Lorwyn-Shadowmoor Supplement Crosses Magic: the Gathering and D&D

I agree, they should have a Small option for all Medium races. Tiny has more significant mechanical implications, so I’d be fine with them saying such conditions don’t affect small species to a significant enough extent to constitute being Tiny. I just thought the image was an amusing response...

D&D General Teased Lorwyn-Shadowmoor Supplement Crosses Magic: the Gathering and D&D

Viashino having their creature types changed to lizard and Cephalids to octopuses was a travesty, and changing Kithkin to haalflings in the next Lorwyn set, while very likely, would also be a tragic loss for the card game.

D&D General Teased Lorwyn-Shadowmoor Supplement Crosses Magic: the Gathering and D&D

I just want to say, calling the combined plane “Lorwyn-Shadowmoor” instead of “Shadowlor” is a huge missed opportunity.

D&D General No One Reads Conan Now -- So What Are They Reading?

🤷‍♀️ I’m also an aging millennial, so maybe I’m also out of touch for not seeing the cynicism of modern kids. I mean, it’s certainly true that people are very cynical these days. But I think it’s also true that sincerity in media is making a comeback. Of course, most media is made by adults, so...

D&D General No One Reads Conan Now -- So What Are They Reading?

I mean, it depends. Is it literally reading? No, but it is still consuming literature, which has most of the same enriching effects. It probably does contribute to the ongoing erosion of our attention spans - our tolerance for inactivity dwindles the more we keep ourselves constantly active. But...

D&D General No One Reads Conan Now -- So What Are They Reading?

Yeah, personally, I find a lot of “cozy” media to be just as insincere as grimdark, if not more so. Real sincerity requires honesty and vulnerability, which in current times tend to come along with a certain amount of unpleasantness. I tend to find the most fulfillment in media that acknowledges...

D&D General No One Reads Conan Now -- So What Are They Reading?

I think audiobooks are a symptom, not the cause. Our lives are much busier than they used to be, with a great deal of cultural pressure towards productivity, which coupled with shortening attention spans makes very uncomfortable with inactivity. We want information quickly, and we don’t want to...

D&D General No One Reads Conan Now -- So What Are They Reading?

I dunno, but it’s very much not an accurate perception of what I was doing anyway.

D&D General No One Reads Conan Now -- So What Are They Reading?

The level of cynicism you’re describing was common in the 90s and 00s, but sincerity is making a comeback.

D&D General No One Reads Conan Now -- So What Are They Reading?

Nah, my personal list would look pretty different. It would have some crossover, but there would be a lot on my list that isn’t on this one, and a lot of things that are on this list wouldn’t be on mine. This list is based on what fantasy media I know the “normies” I regularly interact with have...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

Apart from the scales, color, and number of arms, nothing about this design couldn’t be found on a human female. The number of arms has been a part of the design from the get-go, and these complaints didn’t manifest with the 3e art, which was scaled. What this is about is boobs, and fat. Beauty...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

Let’s not be coy about it. They didn’t remove “female” from the picture, they removed modern Western feminine beauty standards from the picture.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

Interesting, as it is fully scaled just like this one is. To me, the notable differences seem to be the color (tan and brown instead of blue), the frame (sleek and slender instead of muscular and with significant asiposity), and the presence of mammalian (and specifically human-like) breasts. I...
