(IC) DND 3.5 The Flames of War

Edmund thinks about the torch. He gets few theories, each wilder than the other. 1. It is a caster from inside, someone that renews the spell without appearing at the entrance 2. It is an invisible creature, replacing the torch 3. It is an invisible servant, which again means caster inside 4. It...

(IC) DND 3.5 The Flames of War

Edmund takes the first watch, using the last light of the day to keep a lookout. He also takes time to speak about goblins and kobolds from various stories, the bandits that are smaller than normal. Especially about the comical traps that kobolds in the mines are fond of. After he partially...

(OOC) DND 3.5 The Flames of War

Edmund with the bow should be in the middle, he cannot attack in melee so our backs should be covered with someone armed. The farmer maybe? 😀

(OOC) DND 3.5 The Flames of War

Just in the interest of PbP speed, we should do the adventurous thing rather than the logical one. We send the kids back. We keep one NPC and we go down the hole 😜 Ofcourse, if we in-game return to report, another farm may get hit @OneCrappy DM hint would be helpful so we don't 'waste' a week...

(OOC) DND 3.5 The Flames of War

5th option is to return and report and let real soldiers deal with this. But we're not here for realism. I don't like #4, it assumes that whatever is at the farm is friendly and not scavengers or monsters. #3 and #4 split the party, not recommended in normal games, in PbP it is a nightmare...

"I'd say we replace the torch with a new one if you're worried about visibility. But realistically, Eos can see, sleeps little and while he rests the rest of us will se well enough if there are no clouds tonight. We'll see movement if not the details. So, you two, Byron, Eos, rest first...

Lead on, you're the best looking for the role. I'll be a gray eminence :p

(OOC) DND 3.5 The Flames of War

I'm not sure we will have time to both bury the dead AND find the bandits this same day. Even shallow graves take time. But I guess, we can lose 1 hour for that while Eos and Edmund go over the tracks and find general direction to go?

(OOC) DND 3.5 The Flames of War

@doghead for the next level you should take melee two weapon fighting because Taran needs flanking buddy and I too am ranged (and I don't have the option to go melee with STR 8)

Hm, my understanding was that he was leaning on the scythe looking at the fire... EDIT: re-read. The man LIES in soot a soot covered man clenching on to his scythe. His body still as ash congeals with blood all around him, MEA CULPA, correcting

(IC) Quickleaf's Rime of the Frostmaiden

"I cannot help." Lumrolur feels sadness "I only kill. I'll go scout ahead a bit. Stay here. Collect what you can from the church artefacts, they might help in cleansing." Looking over and around the statue on the stairs (investigation?). Checking the stairs for traps and moving down until he is...

Tracking and clue-finding...not his job. But the farmers...Edmund takes farmers close. They are aware of death as part of life, but the younger ones maybe never so the aftermath of a raid. They may have heard stories though. It is important to keep the morale. "Note the loss of life here. But...

(IC) Quickleaf's Rime of the Frostmaiden

Given his natural caution and quick reactions, Lumrolur gets through the wall with moments to spare and escapes unscathed. neurotic: D20 + 5#lumrolurdexteritysave → 18(13 + 5)#Lumrolur dexterity save saved! If this was a spell or spell-like he would get an advantage too for being svirfneblin :)

Kulan: Knightfall's Heroes of Carnell Game [IC]

Maur looks around as the ambush is noticed. "I am not a sneaky one, on the horse or on foot. Call them out and lets see what they want. I would rather not waste the spells...but I will to finish the encounter early. We can waste more time outside the danger zone to recover than inside."...

Kulan: Knightfall's Heroes of Carnell Game [OOC]

I would say no, we're losing horses that way...and we may need them Since we're aware of "the ambush" we don't need to worry too much. We're ready. I would try diplomacy - or intimidation - rather than fighting. (but obviously, not Maur :) - he would just kill them all and be done with it)

(IC) DND 3.5 The Flames of War

As the day drags on, Edmund revives a little. "Hello, again Byron. Would you introduce me to your friend? I am Edmund Montfort, son of baron Hugh Montfort." he nods to the elf, unsure of their relative stations in life, but given the unit and elven kit, he doubts it is higher than his. At best...

(OOC) DND 3.5 The Flames of War

I expected the answer for bloodlines :) I just find limiting PHB only - which affects most heavily melee characters and most of D&D is available online these days :) Sorry, I won't push anymore, we started the campaing. For recruiting, post something in the recruiting thread again. I need to...

(OOC) DND 3.5 The Flames of War

No, it's fine. We can be that close in blood, maybe just not close friends since travel isn't like going today to the neighboring state. We can be maybe twice-a-year-friends/mischief makers :p
