[OT] Optimus Prime joins the National Guard

So what is the difference between a pop cluture toy and opera? I have a friend named Valquiria, which is Portuguese for Valkiyre. Her dad was Brasilian and a big opera fan, he loved the Ring cycle opera (Ride of the Valkiyre and all that)

Stargate Campaign: Spycraft or D20 Modern?

I got the Farscape book and it is beautiful. You won't be disappointed by the look. Now if they just don't completely change the game with an errata that changes the feel of the game. We'll be happy.

I knew it would happen!! Warlord RPG

The world of Warlord was based off an AEG employee's D&D game. There was talk in the early months of AEG doing a campaign rpg book for the world, but then there was nothing for a long time. But I am intriguged. Disiplined Orcs and short -lived, evil elves, gotta love it.

    More D&D Miniature Pictures

If my local game store handle these figs like they do Mage Knight singles, then I'm set. For $20 I already got 22 Orc figs for the games I DM thanks to Mage Knight. The only real pain was to rebase them. With these figs, I won't have to even do that. And of course when I play in a game, I got...

I knew it would happen!! Warlord RPG

From Gaming Report.com AEG also talked about the new Warlord RPG. Developed out of a home game of John Zinser’s, this game is also to be heavily supported. The game is based on the world of AEG’s card game Warlord. The retailers were very happy to see it and from the sound of it AEG support...

Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures Handbook: Chainmail rehashed?

LOL! Lets agree to disagree then. I wasn't haven't been that impressed with WotC's new mini game either. :D

Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures Handbook: Chainmail rehashed?

The extra large mini's rumor is false. The sizes quoted was a typo. And it couldn't hurt to remember that one could look beyond WotC for a fast paced minis game that handles large amounts of figs and feature special rules for PCs http://www.peginc.com/SavageWorlds/index.htm

M&M Plot help request (midsouth con)

The super is modeled after the previous life. ... I am assuming pre-gens then. Though I do advise using the revised templates when you can. They are pretty balanced. Put a "mind control" collar on the critter and make it obvious that the device is not part of the monster's outfit. (Perhaps make...

    New D&D Figs: 45-60mm!!

Or one could look beyond WotC for a fast paced minis game that handles large amounts of figs and feature special rules for PCs http://www.peginc.com/SavageWorlds/index.htm

M&M Plot help request (midsouth con)

If you are not doing pre-gens, then I'd suggest using the revised archetypes and let players have their pick at the hospital. I'd also suggests that after the PC pick their archetypes that you say "a month passes" and then put the group in a Danger Room Sceinaro to give them a few turns to try...

    New D&D Figs: 45-60mm!!

Knowing how WotC makes money off collectable games, I don't see that word being used in their write ups of the game. I am thinking the minis are actualy randomized, not set up like it is Mage Knight. If anything, the stat cards look more valuable for game play than the figs.

    Ars Magica: what's it like?

I wouldn't say that games like Ars and Pendragon are Historical Accurate, more like Historical "Realism" in comparison to your standard D&D game. And in that regard, those games can be a great change of pace. In both games, there was no "magic item shoppe" and "mayors" of towns didn't just...

    [OT] Redefining "Geek"

Geek, Nerd I'd still not get too cocky. It was only a 3 years ago that MTV's "Real World" show (Where only pretty people apply) had a promo that showed them weeding out the unworthy. One of the ones to go was the guy who said "I am advanced in Dungeons and Dragons." The funny thing is at one...

    M&M and pulp heroes...eek

For Pulp, you will also want to restrict the levels of Super Attributes (especially if you make skills cheaper) and certain powers. For my space opera game, I cap the super atts at PL 2 and powers like Incorpreal need to be banned or restricted in some fashion to keep things balanced.

    Xenosaga

I haven't played it, but I am familar with the game. So far, there was a d20 mech mini-game in Polyhedron (d20 Modern compatable), Mongoose and Guardians of Order came out with full fledged mecha games. Out of the cockpit, there is d20 Modern, d20 BESM. If you want to play it loose, though...
