D&D 5E (2014) Initial D&D Next Releases Showing Up on Barnes & Noble Website

That is not bad. It cost me the equivalent of £19 to see Robocop here in the states for one person. That is not counting the cost of the gasoline to drive to the nearest IMAX theater. PS: The movie is a totally different take from the original and I enjoyed it. I will probably rent it when it...

D&D 4E So all these wacky arguments are still about 4e, right?

Bounded Accuracy isn't from fourth edition. It is the opposite. Generally when folks talk about the benefits of it they are referring to how certain elements used to be under first and second edition rules. Third edition is where the strong mathematical underpinnings began and continued under...

WGR1 Greyhawk Ruins -- Your Experiences?

I bought this module used but in excellent condition at GenCon before the Internet shops and PDFs were available. I have referenced it in past Greyhawk games and ran certain sections of it but I haven't yet run the module as it was intended. There is a chance I might run it with Castles &...

Brand new to C&C; Questions about Multi-classing Rules

Thanks for your post. You consider them separate rule options which is OK. I personally looked at them and seen no reason to not allow both in the same campaign based on preference of the player. In a campaign where the DM/CK allowed both options it does create a problem on why some...

    D&D 5E (2014) Does D&D Next need +2/-2 modifiers?

Magic swords and other weapons will not be rare. In the 2E Dark Sun World materials they put text to the effect that they were exceedingly rare and that Sorcerer-Kings, their Knights-Templar, and their secret ninjas would hunt you down for your magic but... in the end... there was OODLES of...

Brand new to C&C; Questions about Multi-classing Rules

Hello everyone. My group is brand new to Castles & Crusades but I personally have been wanting to try this game for a long time. We just received from the Troll Lord our Player's Handbooks (fifth printing). Our group had had experience with playing both AD&D 1e & 2e but it has been a long while...

    D&D 5E (2014) Does D&D Next need +2/-2 modifiers?

+1 weapons will be common place in every edition of Dungeons & Dragons. They are not a very rare item. Even in 2E Darksun when this was supposed to be the situation it wasn't and plenty of magical weapons were all over the place.

Fourth Edition largely unavailable at Amazon.com

If you are looking to get a particular book then I would suggest getting them while you can still get them at discounted prices. :)

Fourth Edition largely unavailable at Amazon.com

It is unusual for books by the Wizard's RPG Team to be unavailable so quickly. Amazon.com was still selling new third edition books after fourth edition was released. It certainly looks like it will be different this time. The OD&D reprint was released to book vendors in December and it is...

Fourth Edition largely unavailable at Amazon.com

It has been five weeks since my post and fourth edition/recent reprints are still "Temporarily out of stock." and some books are now listed as "This item is only available from third-party sellers." This includes recent releases like the OD&D set from December. :(

Friday's Furlough! In the Pipe 5 x 5 (Special Price Sale)

This is a great deal. I have been wanting to try Castles & Crusades for quite a while. I just talked to some of my players and I am ordering this today. One of my players is also likely to grab a set. Thanks for the deal.

Fourth Edition largely unavailable at Amazon.com

As of today the Red Box is listed as "only available from third-party sellers" instead of "Temporarily out of stock." The rest of the recent books like Heroes of the Fallen Lands and the core Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, and Monster Manual are still "Temporarily out of stock." Many...

December Dragon & Dungeon - the Hiatus begins

I would guess there will not be any continuation of the "Magazines" period. However, that ship could sail again. Perhaps Paizo doesn't have the connections to get back on the magazine rack; perhaps even Wizard's didn't have those great connections before; but Hasbro certainly has the...

    D&D 4E Reply if you love 4e

It would be nice even if they released it as pure/only PDF on dndclassics.com. I would buy it just to read it. The manuscript must have been finished. Heck, it may have even been fully formatted.

December Dragon & Dungeon - the Hiatus begins

I just don't believe that Wizards of the Coast will publish any periodicals again, ever. Paizo was their periodical department before they amicably split. The funny thing is that if Wizards actually wanted to have an active D&D periodical they probably would go to Paizo for help. :)

    D&D 5E (2014) Why I Think D&DN is In Trouble

"right-to-work" are some bizarre laws in the US. They started as a kind of anti-union legislation in some states. But in other states they also cover other things. It is basically the local government sticking its nose into private business for many different purposes.

    D&D 5E (2014) Why I Think D&DN is In Trouble

Good sir (or madam) the RPGA Network doesn't exist anymore. All that is left is the rotting corpse sometimes known as the Wizard's Play Network. Living Forgotten Realms is still around for a bit but it exists outside of the former Network or perhaps as the last vestiges of it. All other programs...

    D&D 5E (2014) Why I Think D&DN is In Trouble

I also agree! I would love to see the Astral Sea retained. So much more exiting than an infinite plane of grayness. It can also work with the great wheel since the wheel is more symbolic than a rigid structure. I think a rebooted SpellJammer campaign based on the Astral Sea could even be a fun...
