    D&D 3.x 3.5 Edition Reprints

Nah. It has nothing to do with fourth edition actually. I am surprised you bring it up. It is certainly true you can play any game with a limited set of rulebooks. Looking at the rulebook line as a whole Pathfinder is more complicated with more options and interchangeable parts than v3.5. It is...

    D&D 3.x 3.5 Edition Reprints

They could pick one or two cherished super adventure lines like T1-4/A1-4/GDQ and reprint it in an omnibus edition with game statistics for AD&D (1e & 2e), D&D v3.5, and D&D 4th edition. Such a product would have to be big and expensive. It would likely be purchased by players of all D&D...

    D&D 3.x 3.5 Edition Reprints

You are wrong. Sorry. I said Pathfinder the game system is more complex. I was referring to the main rulebook line. The one you get when you tell the Paizo folks you want them to send you all the rulebooks. I was discussing how Pathfinder has become Skills and Powers like with replacement...

Indeed! It was real! Wait until they announce Provolone: The Advanced Chef RPG where you can role-playing out sessions of Iron Chef or BBQ Pitmasters!

    D&D 3.x 3.5 Edition Reprints

I disagree. The Book of Nine Swords was designed as variant optional in entirety. The newer Pathfinder books are designed to be mixed freely with the core rules. It is far more complex. tinker-able, and interchangeable. The Book of Nine Swords was far more self-contained. I am not saying it is...

    D&D 3.x 3.5 Edition Reprints

While I agree that generally the message board audience on any message board seems negative it is because the folks that are happy tend to not post. When I discovered the listing for the v3.5 reprints months ago on the Barnes and Noble website and reported it here on ENWorld some folks called...

    D&D 3.x 3.5 Edition Reprints

Well as to whether it is better written that is an opinion matter. However, it is not streamlined or cheaper. Pathfinder just using the "rulebooks line" is far more involved and complicated than D&D v3.5 ever was. It may have started as "house rules edition" or whatever they called it. But now...

    D&D Movie/TV Dungeons & Dragons 3 Movie Trailer

Not necessarily. In the past some of the films seen on channels like Sci-Fi have had "International" releases in some countries. And some of them were intended on being released in the theaters but were just that bad or had legal or funding issues. Still waiting to see Solomon Kane here in the...

Review of Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG by Goodman Games

I want to try out this game but I think I would have a hard time "selling" it to the local players. It sounds like a fun thing to play alongside a more modern D&D experience. However, I don't think any of my players would dig the Paranoia six-pack character creation method.

D&D Next Playtest Package Questions Answered! (Mike Mearls, Jeremy Crawford)

? So my main question is why did they make people agree to an NDA web page (even if it was never legally signed) if they actually want people to post about the play-test in their blogs and on forums? And... Am I the only person that thinks that disadvantage sucks? Heck, I am the DM. And I...

    Zenimax files trademark for "Dragonborn"

Non-Issue I think this is a non-issue for WotC or Hasbro. Why would they even care? WotC has far more important things to work on like keeping their jobs. They need an attractive and selling D&D property or it all goes to video games away. Dragonborn are not an essential piece of D&D and if...

Prose, Terminology, Fluff, & Presentation: Spreadsheets or Haiku?

To be clear is the issue you are against the conditions? You haven't mentioned this but I am trying to divine what you are getting at with the two examples. I think the art direction of this edition should be different. Therefore the colored boxed sections need to be gone. Flavor text is...

    D&D 3.5 Reprints in September?

Indeed. I agree wholehearted that the core of v3.5 was amazing and playable. Everyone enjoys a few expansion books. But my later issues with v3.5 are that it had far too many expansion books and just like in the later half of Second Edition things started to get screwy. My group eventually...

    D&D 3.5 Reprints in September?

Pathfinder is different. If your Dungeon Master want to stick to the core of v3.5 then having the v3.5 Player's Handbook is a lot more useful to that player. I am not knocking Pathfinder but after several years of expansions and hardcovers it is significantly different from v3.5.

    D&D 3.5 Reprints in September?

Greetings While Wizards of the Coast has never kept two versions of D&D in print at the same time the original company TSR, Inc did. They continued to print Advanced Dungeons & Dragons hardcover rulebooks (from first edition) after AD&D Second Edition was in print. My personal copy of the AD&D...

Suggest Your "Rule of Three" Questions for Next Week (4/17)

Multi-classing Multi-classing has become lost since its origins in the original AD&D rules. It became totally free form and less meaningful in third edition and had little controls on it. Saying you were part fighter meant very little in 3E. The 3E rules were easily abused. Under fourth...
