Pre-releases never bothered me. I generally don't buy the books until they've been out for a while and I'm ready to run a game with them. But I do like the alt covers and will probably buy the books as they become available from my FLGS as I want to make sure I can get a copy of the alt cover.

Must publishers I've purchased PDFs from recently provide the maps as separate images. Allows the PDF to be manageable, yet still have a high resolution map for zooming into, printing, or putting into a VTT. Best of both worlds, IMO.
