Pathfinder 1E Sacred Geometry - Ladies and gentlemen, Pathfinder has jumped the shark

I think the game also needs, Martial Workout. "Do push ups for 20 seconds. Take that as a damage bonus to your next weapon attack."

Come on now. Pull the other one.

    D&D 5E (2014) Basic already surprising us.

When NPCs are built (and monsters are advanced) using the PC rules.

    D&D 5E (2014) Basic already surprising us.

Oh I agree with that - it's much better designed and balanced than 3.x, certainly. I'm still unconvinced. This is part of it. And that's fine.

    D&D 5E (2014) Basic already surprising us.

Several big reasons, all of them gameplay related and some of them also genre related. Magic items aren't inherent to the character. They're campaign dependent. They're DM dependent. You may or may not find them. If they are for sale, it's a complex point buy system for stuff. Every other...

    D&D 5E (2014) Basic already surprising us.

Well, this thread has done more than anything else to un-sell me on 5e, because we're fully down a wormhole where class imbalance isn't worked around, it's actively applauded and even insisted upon. Folks are talking about a "mythic fighter" option. Like, a module to let Fighters be as cool as...

    D&D 5E (2014) Player's Handbook Alpha *Spoilers*

I kind of thought that's why skeptics have been told to wait for the PHB? (Or, DMG.) This isn't an overall design philosophy thing. This is specific complaints. If the feats are bad, isn't that a fair comment? If I'm watching it, after being dissatisfied with the playtest, and hoping it will...

    D&D 5E (2014) Player's Handbook Alpha *Spoilers*

That doesn't sound like a fair assessment, especially if you're hoping the actual releases will be an improvement.

D&D 5E (2014) Are there really encounter powers?

Yeah, I'm more than a little perplexed by the resource balancing, here. If "short rest" abilities should be thought of as "daily, unless you're lucky" resources, any perceived advantage to them disappears. And making them weaker (and they are) because of their refreshability no longer makes...

D&D 5E (2014) Lost Mine of Phandelver - comments and complaints after read-through (spoilers)

4e's Meepo was Splug, who featured prominently in my game as a bard and later horde master.

D&D 4E Is there a "Cliffs Notes" summary of the entire 4E experience?

It does but you need to post a challenge of your own!

D&D 4E Is there a "Cliffs Notes" summary of the entire 4E experience?

Sorry to interrupt the edition warring, but I have an important announcement to make. This thread is now the "cool pictures of 80's cartoon heroes thread." http://nebezial.deviantart.com/art/he-man-teaser-style-115891770]He Man![/url] First one to post an awesome Skeletor and a similar...

The Power of "NO". Banned Races and Classes?

I think it's fine to keep a campaign flavor, but I try to work in unique things my players want. If all else fails, and what they really want are the mechanical bits more than the story bits, reskinning is a very useful option.

D&D 5E (2014) Spells in Stat Blocks are Terrible

Oh, well, next time rather than an actual gameplay concern about paging through books at the table, I'll pick some vague philosophical reason like "Hit Points: How Do They Work?"

D&D 5E (2014) Spells in Stat Blocks are Terrible

Have they, though, with the Flameskull? Why should that be a spellcaster? That's one of the things giving me pause, here.

D&D 5E (2014) Spells in Stat Blocks are Terrible

First off, if there's THAT many monsters with spells, that it would cost $20-$30 more to print a book with some capsule summaries, then ... wow. That would mean two things: (1) you're darn right I want those capsule descriptions right there if that's what you're going to be using for that many...

    D&D 5E (2014) Monster Manual and Races

The only things I can think of are the pretty tired ones of "guy who's so lawful good he's really evil" and "fallen angel turned to wickedness," but there might be more?
