    DDI January Content Calendar "Online"

If 'enough' people are buying WoTC products, why does it at least seem that things keep getting shaken up?

    New Published Adventures?

This is where Paizo beats WoTC into the dirt. Their adventure path series and individual adventurers insure that when people do play, they have a wide variety of material to play with. WoTC seems bound and determined that if it's not going to be a big seller to avoid it at all cost. For those...

    Most Played FRPG of 2010

How did the Solomen Kane go in your opinion? I've been reading up on the old pilgrim via Dark Horse comics interpetation.

    Dungeon Master's Guide 3?

From what I've heard before, there isn't enough game play at epic levels to warrant a book for it. In addition, WoTC quickly learned that books with numbers at the end of them tend to not necessarily do as well as the previous books ala the sequel effect. They were able to do great in the 3rd...

[WotC's recent insanity] I think I've Figured It Out

I think people talking about WoTC not wanting its old fans back are completely off base. They don't make a pardoy of Tome of Horrors, bring back the thief with backstab, change magic missile back to auto-hit etc.... to please the NEW fans. They don't have Elmore do a cover and make the rules...

There was a lot I wanted to do but 4e was the mainstream.

    Class Compendium: Gone?

Color me curious. Can't work up the energy to get annoyed at this sort of thing anymore. The whole DDI thing ate it up so now it's mild interest until WoTC decides which way their moving again.

    Is D&D (WotC) flaming out?

In terms of marketing, Essentials is all up in the older players 'base' if you will. Even the carton ad they just did with the 30 second bunny theater isn't about some new 4e adventure, it's about a 30 year old adventure. Much of the language of Essentials comes right from older editions...

    Is D&D (WotC) flaming out?

It's innovative if you compare it to the adventure material WoTC has been putting out in Dungeon. Which to me is a sad thing. It seems, at least adventure wise, WoTC had a golden opportunity to learn from all Paizo did with Dungeon in print and with their Adventure Path material and decided that...

30 Second Bunnies Versus Tome of Horrors

This is an 'official' adaptation and is hilarious. Am I the first one posting about it here? This is the type of thing we need to see in Dragon magazine every month to take better advantage of the online medium. The Birchbark Heroes Explore the Tomb of Horrors

Setting Junkies - How do you get your fix these days?

This is where Paizo is getting my money. I like seeing how the setting is unfolding and will be curious to see where future adventure paths take us.

    DDI January Content Calendar "Online"

They could never get away with this in a print publication. Their complete lack of discipline on this matter is disappointing. Dragon and Dungeon continue to fall down the slippery slope of poor digital content management.

Will 2011 be the last year of Wizards D&D?

The probloem with this low level of access requiring payment for higher features is that it's competing against things like Guild Wars and other free online play games. While the two are different overall experiences, from many sources, it seems that the base for table top RPG is shrinking...

Will 2011 be the last year of Wizards D&D?

I honestly think that if WoTC is going to continue making D&D, they need to get as far away from books as possible. More miniatures, tiles, board games, and things that lead you online to the DDI. But then again, I think they need to make the DDI free as the character creator part and charge...

What New Essentials Builds Do You Want To See?

With the way Domains are set up now, I want a Complete Priest Handbook 4e style. Specialized priest all the way baby!

More Classes Essentialized or more support for current classes?

This is just my opinion, but as mentioned in the OP, I don't think WoTC has the support/staff to do it. As we've seen in recent months, the compalints about the lack of content in Dragon tend to follow that. Many argue that the DDI update was held back due to... lack of staff/support.

More Classes Essentialized or more support for current classes?

I'll be curuious to see how they do the Warlord. I can't imagine we won't have a 'Marshal' build as the Warlord is similiar to the Marshal already and we haven't seen that named used yet.

More Classes Essentialized or more support for current classes?

While WoTC haven't outright said that they will cease support for pre-esentials material, and indeed, we have some support for some odd ball classes like the Runepriest this month, what would people like to see? I like the builds in the various Essentials books. I can easily see myself playing...

    Preview: December and Beyond

I remember when I said this on RPG.net and they were like, "No, essentials is a limited line release product. It'll all go back after it's done."
