Well, I'd be very wary on allowing some of those familiars. My thinking is that some of those things aren't familiars, they are cohorts.

I think the save should just be the set DC (int/cha mod + spell level + 10), but that's just personal preference.

I think I would allow it as class progression as it does follow the theme of the PrC.
