[Debunking Rumors] No Baby-shields in OSM

I don't see how a Baby-shield could possibly offer more protection than a Large steel shield, well unless they cast heat metal on you. Although I imagine they could be used for an effective shield bash with the added bonus of perhaps drooling on your target. The constant crying might put of...

    Random Wilderness Encounters... do you...?

I said mix. I suit the monsters to the terrain, then select something that maybe easy or hard or near impossible. I rarely roll for 'random' encounters. If I need an encounter to add to the pace of the game then I introduce one. If the party are wasted and just looking for shelter I don't...

    Is Polyhedron Lame or what??

I didn't join the D20GA, I joined the RPGA. Much as I like D20 and 3rd Edition D&D I feel that if everything goes over to D20 and we don't look at other systems. Then we start to end up with a 'limited gene' pool so to speak and so new ideas won't be given a chance to develop or get intergrated...

    Is Polyhedron Lame or what??

Can't WotC just give the issues of Polyhedron to the UK RPGA people to distribute as a stop gap measure while this all gets sorted out?

    Interesting dilema with alignment.

Torture is an evil act. I cannot see how anyone could argue differently. Certainly not within the alignment rules of D&D, and also in real life. That's not to say a good aligned character won't resort to it if the circumstances are wrong. Also a one off occasion is going to lead to an alignment...

    Is Polyhedron Lame or what??

Although I like the look of the new Polyhedron and its content. I am a bit disappointed by it religation into just being a d20 magazine, and almost a WotC products magazine. Before the merger with the US RPGA the UK Polyhedron was doing some really good stuff supporting all sorts of game...

[OT] I have a right to sell my virtual items, damn it!!!

Problem I see is that usually you never actually buy software. You by a licence to use the sotware. If they actually sold you the software then it would have to work, and therefore it wouldn't need to be patched or have any bugs, etc. Since you don't own the software you can't re-sell it...

    Ranger: What needs fixing?

Personally I think you could do with losing the spells altogether and make them more like special abilities (similair to the druid) gained with advancing levels. Look at is this way, for a Ranger Wisdom is likely to be the third, forth or even fifth choice for a attribute, since being combat...

How does a Trip Attack happen?

Halberd isn't a reach weapon and that lets you make trip attacks with it. The reason some weapons mention you can make trip attacks with them is because then you have the option of dropping them instead of being tripped in return if you fail on your trip test. If say you are armed with a...

    Timing question?

A question on Spring Attack, Flanking and Initiative. If two characters are going on the same initiative due to delaying in a previous round. Then this situation arrives in the following round. Barbarian (B) is facing the Monster (M) the party rogue acting on initiative count 14, uses Spring...

Fading Suns D20.... how good is it?

I was disappointed to find it used a normal hit points system, instead of WP/VP for a sci-fiction setting hit points just don't feel right to me. But I suppose since WP/VP wasn't under the open gaming d20 flag they couldn't use it. P.S. Are you talking about the diplomacy style turn based...

Anyone in the RPGA actually got their Dungeon/Polyhedron yet?

I thought as much the UK RPGA hasn't even delivered the issue #90 one yet. "Due to shipping problems over the Christmas period."

Anyone in the RPGA actually got their Dungeon/Polyhedron yet?

Erm sorry to hammer on but the issue you recieved was it #90 or #91? I'm not sure which is the most current. I've yet to recieve #90 the first combined one. I believe #91 is now out.

What are your party's combat tactics?

Tactics? Nope they tend not to display those, well at least not team tactics. The Ranger shoots things with her bow, three shots a round 1d8+4 each. The Barbarian charges power-attacks and waits for a luckly hit to drop most enemies with one blow. The Sorcerer well she makes herself useful...

Anyone in the RPGA actually got their Dungeon/Polyhedron yet?

That's the first combined one yes? The one with the Pulp Action type game in it?

Anyone in the RPGA actually got their Dungeon/Polyhedron yet?

Simple question? I'm wondering how the service is since I've seen it in the shops I figured I should have got mine by now.

    Have you played a Gnome?

Where is the "Yes, but it made me feel dirty afterwards" option? I've played a gnome but I wouldn't make a habit out of it and I certainly don't think they rock. Even the Rock Gnomes.

What house rules do you use?

I would have thought full round spells like Summon Nature's Ally were enough to make it worth having +3 all the time compared to +4 just for casting defensively.

What house rules do you use?

Erm none yet. Although I am using stuff from a number of d20 publishers, things like Prestige classes and the like. I thought I'd play it through as it is presented at least once before I stuck my oar in.

What is your least favorite/most hated PC race?

I've voted Gnome, although I play one on occasions. Its the way I've seen them presented, they are either a thin dwarf or a bearded halfling in most of the published stuff I've seen. And tinker gnomes are just stupid. Hopefully when Scarred Lands gets round to doing the continent with Gnomes...
