    Revision to Force Points: Suggestions?

So, aside from handing out more Force Points, and codifying some of the vast, unspecified sea of things you can do with Force Points, are there any changes? I agree, Force Points should flow at a pretty good rate- I'd say PCs should probably have, on average, at least 2-3 going into any adventure.

    Lightsaber Duels

That's sad. We see it all the time, feat or no feat. These are great combat maneuvers, and the payoff if successful is worth the risk of abject failure. Lock Weapon: (This option requires Improved Disarm) If you succeed a Disarm attempt by more than five, you may choose to lock your...

    Lightsaber Duels

The problem with adding ANY feats to achieve this is that characters barely get the feats to demonstrate their core fighting style as it is. What is really need is more Special Attack options... like Disarm and Bantha Rush before feats. For example, it makes sense to me that you should be able...

    Lightsaber Duels

A lot of the duel is flavortext. An attack does not map 1-1 to something that strikes your opponent. And attack roll might represent a quick volley of three slashes, the sum total of which have a damage threat equal to one good effort at a hit. Flashing around the Lightsaber as they do is...

    SWd20 vs Revised (differences?)

Star Wars is a genre where the PCs can do a little tech stuff, and a droid in the corner (or a hired specialist) does the rest. It can be a playable class, but it presses against the genre a little. Particularly computer tech-specs. Star Wars is not supposed to be a game where Hackers are...

    SWd20 vs Revised (differences?)

Warn people off from the Tech-Specialist. A couple levels is okay, but otherwise its really an NPC sort of class.

    [AU] Race/Creature Analogues

To a certain extent, you might create direct mappings. But I think its easier to judge on a case by case basis. Elves as faerie folk have obviously been replaced by Faen. But one particular NPC might feel more like a Verrik. So use a Verrik. Direct mappings might easily allow the use of...

Star Wars games in the wake of RotS

Actually, I find the d20 SW rules to be a little to easy on the Darkside Corruption. You use a Dark Side Power, you get a Dark Side Point. Does not matter why. I prefer the idea that Dark Side points might be given out for behavior, and on a Dark Side power use when you roll a '1' or a '20'...

Star Wars games in the wake of RotS

I thought about some of the Order 66 ideas being kicked around, and I've got a setup-campaign for an inter-trilogy jedi campaign... 1) Make 2-3 Jedi Characters 2) Four sessions across several years of the Clone Wars, rotating through (and leveling) characters. (So you'll feel the pain.) 3)...

Faster than light travel or "jumping"

Not only do jumps, jump-gates, and hyper-space dimensions make suspension of disbelief a little easier, they are also generally more internesting from a plotbuilding perspective. It also makes the fast travel something to be used strategically rather than tactically. In my Sci-Fi universe, its...

d20 Past - Anyone using it?

Well, since I am an inveterate rules-tinkerer, D20 Past by its very structure has very, very little to offer. I'd rather spend $20 of my time creating my own rules. Two of the coolest, most interesting, and money-worthy aspects of Dragon Magazine of the last 8 years was the Campaign Components...

    Farscape Support

If you're into that sort of thing, the Uncharted Territories (and what's leftwards of them) is a great place to put any cross-over settings.

Star Wars d20 Ships ... Finding Stats

Why would you have to convert something from Starships of the Galaxy? There is a SotG web enhancement: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=starwars/article/sw20011115fleet You should probably ask around at the http://www.swrpgnetwork.com/, its the place to go for star wars RPG stuff.

Star Wars d20: Consular vs. Guardian

Its not too powerful, it is exactly as powerful as its supposed to be :) Power balance is irrelevant outside of multi-player RPGs where people want to do different things. The KotOR games model Jedi power levels relative to other people fairly cleanly.

Star Wars d20: Consular vs. Guardian

While you may as well collapse them, the problem is they are not differentiated enough. I'd go KotOR style, with Jedi Guardian (Full BAB, low skills), Jedi Sentinel (Medium BAB, Good Skills), and Jedi Consular (Poor BAB, Medium-Good Skills, More Force Powers/feats).

My freinds post: How High School Community Hour and d20 dont mix

The interweb bit is probably just a joke- like saying "World Wide Webiverse" This post barely qualifies for the Off-Topic Forum. Its not posted as someone confused and asking for clarification, but as a complaint. That's disturbing.

    Does anyone have a clue...

I was under the impression that the psionics rules were specifically designed to be the Force-enabled. In fact, the Soul Knife looks like a Jedi with the serial numbers filed off. I see no reason to use the actual Jedi classes in D&D given the XPH. Also, topical thread names work better.

Star Wars d20: Consular vs. Guardian

Kinda missed my point. I really like Vitality Powered Magic. Its one of my current projects. I was referring to the strangeness that is the spellcaster being vitality powered and not being the premier Vitality-Collector in the game. It is strange that a multi-class with Soldier can help a...

    Farscape Support

There was an AEG D20 Farscape book. It was so-so to not-so-good on mechanics, but the setting stuff might be helpful. Trial and Error isn't really hard for Farscape. Once you get the core stuff down, its kind of an anything-goes sort of place. Get a few key races, figure out key weapons...
