Are you in the RPG closet?

If D&D isn't normal, then why does its influence permeate much of American culture? I mean just watch Freaks and Geeks. YouTube - Freaks and Geeks - Carlos the Dwarf You have a big time producer and network like Judd Apatow and NBC placing up and coming young stars playing D&D. The...

Designing a secret military research facility

What about Google Earth? You could always find forums that discuss random military facilities and then go look at them for inspiration.

How are you filling the Yawning Void that is the WotC publishing schedule?

I'm not a completist. I might buy (4e) 6-8 books a year. Right now I'm stronly considering getting into Mutants and Masterminds 3, but I'm awaiting the print release. I don't know if I want to go the DCU route (since I'm a Marvel guy), but I do know that at least that book is released.

Are you in the RPG closet?

True! And I watch talk shows so that means I shouldn't worry anymore. Everything else is missing from my life though, including that nice car/phallic symbol I've always wanted. One day you will be mine. One day I will own you, porsche cayenne () C.I.D.

Are you in the RPG closet?

Not to get too deep into religion, but I have known many many deeply devout religious gamers of various faiths. That said, people like my parents had heard all of the stupid Jack Chick horror stories from the 80's. They were therefore concerned when I started gaming in the early 90's in middle...

Are you in the RPG closet?

Its a weird thing to admit you play D&D to certain groups. I don't let people at work know that I game -- since it can be used against you by way of old stereogypes. A lot of my co-workers are older and are pretty religiously conservative. Outside of that, I don't normally share with...

Why is "I don't like it" not good enough?

Yes Shadzar. I agree. I don't know what to make of Bill O' Reilly. He's normally too focused on his own world. He lacks the empathy required to interact with other individuals. What I want to know is why languages like 'kobold' aren't turned over to Thieves' Guilds around the game world...

Have you ever driven a player from a game?

Hey Zhal. Its Cy. Do you have any useful links for World Tree? I'm not familiar with that game. Sorry you had such a bad player (experience). C.I.D.

Why is "I don't like it" not good enough?

Ever so my friends. Shadzar, you eloquence and your brevity do justice to your arguments. I wonder if perhaps unfortunately you might be overlooking the possibility of Raven Crowking's earlier posts. Let me be specific, the post about player characters' "freewill". C.I.D.

Why is "I don't like it" not good enough?

Yes it is always important to push art for arts sake before pleasure in hobbies. Shadzar continues this patriotic and ultimately self-segregating goal. This is what made America the hub of innovation in the past century. I ultimately mean this as a great compliment. C.I.D.

Why is "I don't like it" not good enough?

Why?! As Raven Crowking mentioned earlier, its so that players can pick languages for their characters. That's one reason enough. The DM doesn't need to tell the players more than the common monster races, I'll give that, but its still part of the game world. Players need to place their...

D&D 4E The (on-line) Future of 4E (or 4D as it will become known)- am I mad?

They don't even have Monster Tools up yet in the new subscription-model. Until they have that tool + the Character Builder + a visualizer + X months/years I don't see them having it ready to go. This is a long term thing. 4e will just be the testbed. 5e will probably be an attempt at more of...
