The "Classic" Ranger, or, the grooviest alt.ranger on the net!

Very, very nice. I'm going to have to borrow it for my campaign. ( Except for the alignment restriction, I can't get get my mind around hunters _having_ to be good. )

DMs - do you enforce spellbook rules?

By the Book, but with an 'out' I do it by the book, but anyone with Alchemy can create the 'special inks' for 1/3 the cost. Anyone with alchemy _and_ knowledge nature can identify the plants and materials required to make the ink. And with some Wilderness Lore checks, they can gather the...

Do you use the Psionics Handbook in your game?

Psionics is not Fantasy I feel psionics do not fit the feel of a fantasy setting. But they _DO_ fit the feel of internal, inherent magic far better than sorcerers ever could. I use psionics, but it is magic. Psi-warriors are renamed as Arcane Warriors, Sorcerers are renamed Battlemages, and...

    Name that warhammer!

Oh, gah... I don't think the image of a squat, hairy, drunken dwarf god puckering up for a kiss would be a very nice mental picture... Not that I am being much help... Moradin's Touch ( kinky ) Moradin's Finger ( Pull my finger... ) Holy Hammer of Antioch. ( or not ) Moradin's Fist...

    Catching Fireballs

I am convinced that the designers set the weight of weapons and armor to account for 'bulk' and awkwardness as well as simple heft... And believe me, heavy flails are a pain to transport unless you wrap the whole thing...

    DM Screens...

No screen. None. If I want things hidden, I keep it in my binder and keep the binder closed when I am not looking at it. And I gave up on hiding dice. People would feel picked on when I told them they got double 20'd.

What is your favorite craft item feat for a wizard

Rings, completely. Aside from the LotR connection, you can do absolutely anything with them. Want a charged magical item? Make a ring. Want a use-activated or always on item? Make a ring. You can put every effect you can afford into one little band of metal, so you can save the rest of your...

I hope I'm wrong about this

_That_ is a cool system. I hope you don't mind my borrowing it for the game I've got starting up tomorrow... <joke>Don't worry, I'll give it back when I'm done.</joke>

    Roots of Revolution

<not what you want to hear> I completely misread the title for this thread, thinking I could see a new magic item, the "Boots of Revolution" </not what you want to hear>

"Out of the Frying Pan" - Book I: Gathering Wood (reprise)

And I'm reading it for the first time... I love seeing Egyptian dieties used in games... :-)

Immortals Handbook, what format interests you?

Definately hardcopy. I can't imagine either downloading and printing out a book that big, or usefully finding just a few pages ( 32 or less ) that would be enough to successfully use the system. The pantheon of the world I am currently running doesn't care about how many people worship them...

    Wizard/Archer Creation

Craft Magic Arms and Armor is definately worth it, especially if your DM lets you create custom items. Magic arrows for every occassion. Sleep arrows from DMG. Hold Person arrows ( Don't remember actual name ) from Magic of Faerun. Healing arrows ( Still don't remember name ) from MotW...

How much do PCs know about monsters?

What Elder-Basilisk said. It really depends upon the monsters and the area. In my next campaign starting up next weekend, everyone knows what Gnolls, Orcs, Kobolds, and Ogres look like and what they are generally capable of. This is because there are significant populations of these nearby that...

Am I the only one who is depressed by other campaign websites?

Nope. :-) My website has bunches of feats, PrCs, and setting info. Only thing I really need to add is more detailed campaign info. ( NPCs and city descs ) http://home.talkcity.com/PicassoPl/blackenedhatter/dork.html

Oozemaster is so _COOL_! I want to play a loogie!

Aftermath - Campaign after the War

Ouch That definately sounds like a good way to give PCs a vendetta. That is one reason whenever I play a wizard, I make sure they have Knock under Spell Mastery.

    Giant defense

That shouldn't work. You provoke an AoO for leaving a threatened area unless _all_ movement for the _round_ has been 5'. Not action, but round. ( Unless that guy has spring attack... )

There was a beautiful piece posted on Usenet about just over a year ago about 3e prices compared to medieval england. I think it may be useful to some of y'all... Posted to Usenet by: Brett Evill Many thanks go to him for this article... MONEY AND PRICES IN MEDIAEVAL ENGLAND AND IN D&D 3...
