    D&D General Bizuids and Clercerocks

I stomp all over everything. I've had Druids that describe their powers just like Sorcerers, always sticking with the same spells even though the mechanics say they can change them daily, just to reinforce the Sorcerer vibe. Likewise, I've had Warlocks extensively study and learn to make pacts...

D&D General The Double-Edged Sword: Is The New D&D Edition a Cash Grab in Disguise?

Dear WotC, I am officially asking you to sell me the core books again with mechanical updates and new art!

D&D 5E (2014) Dying From Exhaustion While Petrified

Having a glossary of precisely-defined terms is exactly what PF2E did, and look how many people bounce off that. I literally can't get enough people interested in playing, and the sheer density of the conditions list is among the reasons why. And that's while having a waiting list of more than a...

D&D 5E (2014) Dying From Exhaustion While Petrified

For better or worse, it is my repeated experience that precise wording requires increasingly lengthy rules to account for multiple situations. And the result of such long blocks of precise wording is TL;DR mental blue screen of death for increasing amounts of players. The holy grail would be...

D&D 5E (2014) Dying From Exhaustion While Petrified

There is no specific rule about Petrification preventing starvation, the same way there is no rule that says you go Unconscious when you lie down for bed every night. You just have to wing it.

D&D General BG3 Massive Spoiler Thread

Sanctuary on one chap and walk them in as an ambassador. Works... on about 90% of honor mode fights.

    D&D 5E (2014) Military food in dnd

Not having to do dishes would also be amazing. But now I'm wondering about the impact of goodberry on latrine usage. Not normally something to worry about in a fantasy game, but fascinating to consider in general.

D&D General EverQuest's Norrath via D&D. Any good conversions?

Everyone sits on the ground to increase their healing and mana regeneration.

D&D General EverQuest's Norrath via D&D. Any good conversions?

I'm imagining rolls for camping monsters, pulling them, avoiding trains, and how many other adventurers are in the dungeon with you right now. :D

D&D General Whom did you romance in Baldur's Gate 3?

Agreed. While the option exists, you lose a dramatic amount of content unless you know exactly what choices to make. And the evil options in the game are mostly chaotic evil. There's not much support for lawful evil.

D&D General Whom did you romance in Baldur's Gate 3?

Everyone simultaneously with the Polyamory mod and a Minthara mod. My endless thirst for content demanded I recruit everybody, and see all romances! Minthara's romance was borked at the time, though.

D&D General Explain Bounded Accuracy to Me (As if I Was Five)

To be fair, when the best person in the world at a skill contributes a smaller bonus than a d20, your character choices can feel very muted. Of course, the nature of compromise often leaves both sides feeling uneasy.

D&D General Demetrios1453 Plays the Gold Box Games

I agree here. Sure Secret's long tunnels were the Deep Roads long before Dragon Age, but that wizard/draconian spam could one shot your characters and that was negative fun coming from endless trash fights. I wish every gold box game used set numbers of encounters. I love it when games do that.

D&D General The D&D Memes Thread

We need the opposite meme where the NPC IS trustworthy, but the players never trust anyone ever.

D&D General Demetrios1453 Plays the Gold Box Games

The early series games were great about this kind of thing, and running defense or counter controlling to keep your own people alive was great fun. Things get much less fun come Darkness or Dark Queen where any given trash encounter came with multiple casters that could one shot kill your...
