I second the ranger idea: specialize in TWF and throwing axes, take aberrations, magical beasts, and drow as FEs.

I own almost all SL products and see no problem at all with 3.5 - the CC revised is a revised version of the original CC which appeared in stores even before MM 3.0. CCr includes 3.5 updates on all player races for the SL, including gnolls, charduni dwarfs and those catpeople from Termana...
