I've added notes in the PrRC v1.3 (PHB-Lite) to be released next week to help clarify this under the 'Standard Modifier' section and under Weapon Damage.

PrRC isn't exactly 'cannon', but it is getting better with each revision with everyone's input.

I can't believe someone who is/was in the industry would try and judge a 1000+ pages of rules on a 40 page, fan-compiled collection of preview material. I say it in big red letters in post 1, plus in the preface: "DON'T JUDGE 4E UNTIL YOU GET THE RULES". It is less than 0.05% of the pages...

I was hunting for an answer to this for the next revision to the Rules Compilation too. I found this thread on the Gleemax forums. They seem to have decided it was +2/+5 to defenses (I assume AC too), with a post from a DDXP player that asked what he was getting from the warlock's power...

This is how I see the calculations using PrRC (make sure you are using the newest versions of the pregens). Corrin (hafling paladin) AC 20 (10 + 2 heavy shield + 8 plate) Fort 13 (10 +2 Str, +1 paladin) Ref 14 (10 +1 Dex, +2 heavy shield, +1 paladin) Will 14 (10 +3 Cha, +1 paladin) Erias...

I also notice "Aid Another" is still an action. Wonder if it is still 'beat AC/DC 10 to give +2 bonus?

I think this is a terminology problem that we are going to have to unlearn from earlier additions. Does the term "ability modifier" refer to the basic adjustment due to ability score (12-13 = +1, 14-15=+2), or does it refer to the basic adjustment + 1/2 level? I will remove the "+1/2 character...
