I'll echo the prediction that Dark Sun is the next setting released. Rather than try and deal with the later releases in the 2e version, I'd suggest rewinding the clock a few years, or centuries, before the original boxed set, with a page or two describing a different era of play for those...

Agreed. I'm not sure WotC knew how popular the Encounter Builder would become when Jonathan Tweet spearheaded (wrote?) the project for his home game. I think the encounter builder is the 'low hanging fruit' in the DDI. I'm only guessing, but I think getting the EB to include stat blocks...

I've recruited two new players since 4e launched, one of which has started his own group that he DMs, which also has two new-to-RPGs players. I did loose two players from my 3.5 game, but that was to WoW, not 4e ;)

One of the only tables that is missing from the screen that I've had to look up in play more than once is the Object Properties and Hit Point tables, DMG page 65.

I'll be buying the PH2 and have a DDI subscription as well. There is just something nice about having the physical product in my hands, in a portable format that doesn't run out of battery in 30 minutes. Plus, I'm sort of a collector, and my shelf looks better with each new book...the laptop...

I had to scroll more to read your post about hating scrolling than I do in the Compendium...so....I guess it doesn't bother me that much :)

I have to disagree with most of the posters here so far. I love the changes to the Compendium. Aesthetically, much better. I have no problems with the UI at all - seems very intuitive and easy to navigate. I can copy/paste from Chrome to Word2007 and choose to keep the background formating...

The "Play a" series has been one of my favorites in Dragon, and I hope a few (all?) make it into the Annual. I voted for the changeling (though I agree it will likely be in ECG). I personally have no problem with PCs playing "monsters", but I know some people have a hard time explaining...

I can't draw. Period. I used Neverwinter Nights 2 to create characters and then take screen captures of them for my character portraits. But I'd rather have the Visualizer. If it is as close to being finished as people are saying it is, then I'd rather they finish it up and release it...
