    4E Poorly Rated on Amazon...

I know. Just having fun. I guess it's a question of where to draw the line. I certainly would not go back to the 1st edition model (e.g. those added spell descriptions in the DMG) which created more confusion then needed. Perhaps. I guess I just felt kind of ripped off. I feel like they phone...

Hey, thanks! I've never been called such things before. Glad I spent the time composing my thoughts for your constructive feedback. Well done. I see the error in my ways now.

Just found this INTERESTING quote (above) from your blog. Yes, the other DMGs had two key design philosophies which the 4th Ed. did not: Some rules (such as details on magic items) are better left in the DM's hands. A more experienced DM can use this to his (the campaign’s) advantage. A...

I like this idea a great deal. I think I'll incorperate it in my 3.5 champains. My wheels are already turning... I just bought Weapons of Legacy... humm..... I agree, which gets back to my point that the 4th Ed. DMG's target audiance is only for new DMs. It's my feeling that previous edition's...

MerricB, nice reply to my request. Agreed. I wasn't inspired with ideas from it but it's good that it did for you. However, there's also the long term use of it: do you sincerly think you'll be lugging it any games you're going to DM? Too true. The only reason I broaght it to the gaming table...

*snicker* Thanks for spotting that. Hummmm... I can’t wait to tell those new to DnD how ‘back in the day’, we had a ‘glosery’. [Note: I fixed my post to say ‘glossary’ for those of you who are confused by what Korgoth and I posting about.].

Count me as one of those old timers. I have been buying DnD books since 1979. The 4th Ed. DMG was only the second DnD book I have ever returned. The other was a DragonLance compilation of adventures (Yuck! Never even considered buying anything DragonLance after that.). There are few if any rules...

    What the heck!!!

Gary is rolling in his grave! <rant> Shame for shame on Hasbro! I can understand the business world of risk aversion, but his is no ordinary risk. This demonstrates a complete contempt for the history of DnD. Certainly, at this point GenCon needs DnD more than the other way around, but such was...

3.x Master Index for all WoTC books

I very much hope that WoTC will publish a 3.0/3.5 master index for all their works. It's the least they could do for publishing so many texts without indexes. It would also be a nice parting gift to those of use who own most of these works printed on dead trees.

    Best WotC Books of 3.0/3.5?

Excellent topic. Here are my top three: 1.) Libris Mortis (finnally an ORGINAL 3.0/3.5 volume - yes, previous versions, particulary 2nd, had some good texts on undead, but this book is orginal in concept and implimentation. Chapter 7, Undead in The Campaign is chuck full of ideas for DMing...
