Judges Guild Makes Statement About Goodman Controversy [Updated]

My worst work experience was the little old lady in our office who decided to overshare over lunch.

Judges Guild Makes Statement About Goodman Controversy [Updated]

Gotta be careful, and recognize potential threats. I do it too. The worst* is when one of Those Guys wrongly assumes I am one of Them. They feel comfortable sharing some deeply scary stuff. *: It’s not the worst they are capable of.

Judges Guild Makes Statement About Goodman Controversy [Updated]

I have Mayfair Games’ version of City State. Apart from its impressive box cover, it’s a deeply boring product.

Judges Guild Makes Statement About Goodman Controversy [Updated]

The toughest thing about being a Christian-baptized cishet white male American… …is being associated with the horrible words and deeds of aggrieved Christian cishet white male Americans such as (but hardly limited to) this Bledsaw creep.

Judges Guild Makes Statement About Goodman Controversy [Updated]

Yeah, I was eagerly awaiting the imminent arrival of my new GG version of Jennell’s Caverns of Thracia before they dropped this [working-with-a-Nazi-adjacent-business-partner] stuff. I’ve bought almost all of GG’s 5e products, and many of their 4e, 3e, DCCRPG, and even Metamorphosis Alpha...

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

“We’re really excited to release a new version of this Classic Adventure very few people remember! But we’re gonna be sure not to make too much money overselling this product, because the guy who owns it is pretty much a Nazi. So you’ve gotta see this adventure! But only some of you should...

    Dragon Reflections #92

I love this cover! It was one of my favorite illustrations. Although present-day, know-it-all me is distracted by how implausibly thin that stone bridge is/was. But it's still a great, wonderfully vibrant illustration! Magic was probably holding that bridge together. Or something. I played...

Eberron: Forge of the Artificer to Be Priced at $29.99

That 1e DMG seemed really expensive to me at $12. And shortly after I bought it, they raised the price to $15! Phew!

Goodman Games Offers Assurances About Judges Guild Royalties

Yes. None of what Mr. Goodman wrote answers this key question. Stubbornness and/or sunk cost, it seems to me. I’ve bought OAR1-9, and many other GG 3e, 5e, DCCRPG, and even 4e products. I can’t see that I’ll touch this; it seems unworthy of the effort GG has apparently put into it.

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

I have the Mayfair Games version of the City. I flipped through it ~20 years ago, and it made no impression on me whatsoever. (It's been on my to-sell list for years, but I never seem to get around to selling things. Just not enough time for that.)

I won't watch/listen to a video on this subject, but the written statement doesn't include any obvious personal statement?

The title of this article/thread seems quite accurate? Which part of it would be untrue or exaggerated?

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

True! I haven't read Castle Whiterock and I'm not interested in retrospectives on it. But I'm always willing to consider an updated version of an old adventure, whatever product line it gets assigned to. I'm not willing to give money to people who publicly advance hateful ideas though.

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

GG recently crowdfunded a new G1-3-esque 5e supermodule. They have announced an OAR version of their own 3e Castle Whiterock. And they have recently offered 5e versions of various 3e DCC and DCCRPG adventures. All those seemed like good ideas to me.

D&D 5E (2024) OAR 10 City State of the Invincible Overlord

If/when confirmed that Bledsaw will profit from this, my long purchasing history with Goodman will be done. This is unacceptable. Perhaps they’ll find a new market though, and do well with OAR11: Empire of the Petal Throne?

Dicebreaker closing? Where to get your TTRPG news!

Sad to read about Polygon. Which reminded me of the one other place I sometimes see RPG news: BlueSky… when Alphastream or Morris or darjr posts something there! 🤣 https://bsky.app/profile/alphastream.bsky.social https://bsky.app/profile/darjr.bsky.social...

How Much Do You Care About Form Factor/Book Size?

I prefer 8.5x11. I’m pretty good at skimming, so having more text on the page makes it quicker to skim a lot of text. Flipping pages slows me down greatly. With digest-sized books, there’s either too small a font for my failing eyes, or too little information on each page.

Spoilers Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

That seems so strange. He was so wonderfully, casually ruthless for years. I didn’t care for the messianic turn the writers did to him at the end, but that’s their fault, not his.

TSR The Full & Glorious History of NuTSR

That is a not-completely-out-of-all-reason 'asking' price. Looks like she actually wants to sell! I hope it goes well for her. At least inasmuch as I'd love to see the book closed on that chapter.
