Forgotten Heroes: Fang, Fist, and Song - available at RPGNow.com

The barbarian and the druid really can both be classified under "fang." We had a lot of debate about the title and went through multiple different incarnations, but we eventually settled on this one.

The "complete" list of announced 4e 3pp products

Goodman Games has a preview of the druid class from their new book Forgotten Heroes: Fang, Fist, and Song.

Does brutal affect magic weapon d6s on a crit?

I would rule that it only applies to the actual base dice of the weapon. Crit dice and dice from any situational effect would receive this benefit unless the actual base damage of the weapon changed.

    More Swordmage to come?

I suspect that it means that they have developed their own version of the same tradition. I don't think it refers to a unique build.

    Tournament Packs and Upcoming Releases

Indeed. There is no ranger in the book. There are the barbarian, monk, druid, and bard.

    Tournament Packs and Upcoming Releases

WotC hasn't put out a druid yet, so we aren't altering anything. I can't say for certain what will be once they do put those classes out, but as of now, we're not altering any class that exists currently.

    Tournament Packs and Upcoming Releases

You can make new classes. You just can't alter the way character generation occurs.

Boy, Does It Ever Suck Not Getting Paid!

This kind of thing has only happened to me once. I wrote a book for a company that I handed in early 2006. It was never released (having nothing to do with quality) and I was never paid. And this is over $1,000 worth of writing. There definitely needs to be a place where RPG industry...

Writing Jobs in the industry? How and where?

The writing serves as a sole source of income for very few people. Most of those few that I know that pull this off also have a spouse or partner who contributes financially (or may even be the primary earner). For example, I've worked on a numerous projects of different magnitudes this year for...

How are Attack Bonus Calc for Monsters

It's pretty much determined by role and level. Each role (brute, soldier, lurker, skirmisher, artillery, and controller) has a base, and the monster's level is added to this. Some monsters are better than others at hitting AC, and others are better at hitting the three defenses. One of these...

Only thing I don't like so far: Power Replacement

In power design, we've been encouraged to see some replacement powers as ramped up versions of what a character can already do. This isn't universal, but odds are you'll have a bigger and better fireball choice at several higher levels.

    Help with human/warlock

Also keep in mind that there will be more at-will powers coming out when new pacts are created.

    4e D&D GSL Live

I don't think it's all that hard to create your own stat blocks for goblins or troglodytes or kobolds. Just use the NPC rules and create your own monsters. If you use them throughout the module, you won't have to do too much. I think it's quite doable.

No stat blocks in modules per the GSL?

You can always create your own goblin NPCs or make your own goblin and put it in the adventure. You just can't copy the stat block from the MM.

Warlock minion killer - does this work?

It's not yet clear whether or not any character can derive benefit from two different implements simultaneously. I can't think of a reason why they couldn't, but it certainly could result in numerous broken combos (or people carrying around a truckload full of different implements for different...

What do 3rd-party publishers think of the GSL?

More likely, you'll write up your own goblin or orc with a few modifications, templates, or other alterations so that it's not the same monster. It certainly means more work for designers and publishers, but it won't stop people from making usable modules.

    4e D&D GSL Live

I don't think this would prevent you from creating new pacts for the warlock or new builds for any class.

    4e Equipment list and nostalgia

I liked the utility kit aspect too, but nothing is stopping you from getting a pole, chalk, a water clock, or a sun dial. Players are (and should be) encouraged to think of creative solutions to problems.

    4e Equipment list and nostalgia

I suspect that some of this will be covered in the future.
