    Exemplars of Evil 3.5 lite?

It's not all stat blocks (though there are plenty). It's a lot of encounters, maps, and background as well.

Silven Publishing closes shop in 2007

The Mongoose guys did a great job with that book so we're very appreciative. Keep your on on future announcements. Silven is in talks with other companies to pick up our existing PDF products. We don't know yet who it will be or when, but the products will remain available.

GAHH!! Time to take a break from 3.5

I'm not a fan of raising magic at all. I'm perfectly comfortable in campaigns where it's not allowed and often shock "raise-happy" DMs and players when I tell them that I don't want my character raised. The CLW wands are an entirely different story. I think the way to solve that is as a DM...

Silven Publishing is closing its doors.

We're in negotiations to make some of our products available after our closing through other companies. Any interested companies can contact me or Kosala.

Is WoTC even relevant to you anymore?

Happens to me all the time LOL.

    Homosexuality in the Forgotten Realms

Actually, I did Erik. I think was quoting that very section of Lliira's history in another thread similar to this yesterday. I also used the thread in one of the 4th Magic Item Compendium preview article - the one about using the book in the Realms. So I'm getting some good mileage out of it...

    Previews for July and Beyond

Without revealing much because of NDAs, I can say that EoE contains more in it than just nine villains. Villains have underlings (who have backgrounds as well), lairs, encounters, and quite a bit more.

Pathfinder 1E Do you look for specific authors? (slight Paizo tie-in)

For me, it almost entirely depends on the subject matter of the product. There are some designers I really like (and I don't want to name names because I wouldn't want to leave any out), but I still only purchase a product if it appeals to me. I tend to get most of WotC puts out because most...

Are there any WotC adventures out there that actually have traps anymore?

I put quite a few traps in the two mini-adventures I wrote for Dragons of Faerun.

    Wizards 2008 releases?

I suppose mine could hardly be considered an objective fan opinion, but I read the novels for fun and to get the "feel" of the Realms in my mind. I like to read books that detail new regions or that inspire character ideas (or that expand on ideas I already have). I don't see the novels as big...

    Vestiges and Binders

I think people should have to go to the abyss for every vestige! (End of my silliness for now). But seriously, there should some new binder information in the upcoming Class Chronicles: Tome of Magic article. That should be out within 4-6 weeks or so.

One good thing about the new encounter format

The thing I like about it is that it provides details that can sometimes slip through the cracks, all in one place. Every change is going to have advantages and disadvantages, especially in terms of getting used to running it (after running something else for so long), but I like the...

Is 3.5e beginning to suffer from rules bloat?

We all see complaints from the other end of the spectrum. People get angry if there isn't rules support for new systems in subsequent products. If you don't want to use incarnum, the tomes, dragon magic, or other new systems, nothing is stopping you from simply excluding them from your...

    WotC Warlock Invocations sources?

My new Class Chronicles article has a feat called Infernal Adept that is of benefit to both warlocks and dragonfire adepts. It allows them to take an invocation of no more than 2 grades lower than their highest grade invocation. So a warlock with dark invocations could select a lesser or least...

    Warlock needed! FAST!

There have got to be a few sample warlocks kicking around in the splat books.

    Wizards Announced Digital Initiative

It doesn't seem like the DI to me either. I think we'll see a more specific D&D announcement at WotC when that is revealed.

What must one do to be "evil" alignment?

I think it's fine to explore moral ambiguity as long as the DM and the players are on the same page. If the players think you are using the spell in a standard way and you aren't, then you have a miscommunication that is bound to lead to problems. It's fine to change the rules or interpret them...

What to do about a publisher not paying?

That's an incredible idea! It's tough for freelancers to get their next gig even if they are reasonably successful, so this would benefit people at all levels. Sometimes it's awkward to send a query to a publisher you've never talked to. It can also be hard to scout around for a project that...
