    Monks, Mage-Killing and SR Improving

I completely agree. But, very often you'll find SR so high above what a party of that CR can handle, it's amazing. The Juggernaught from MMII is my favorite example (and my player's least favorite). CR 11, SR 36.

    Monks, Mage-Killing and SR Improving

To be fare, SR can get alarmingly high in mosnters pre-epic. Thus the need to boost your check. But, you're right, if you want to be effective against magic then you should be able to give up your other feats to do it.

    Monks, Mage-Killing and SR Improving

Hmmm, maybe I was thinking of Turn Resistance. Honestly, though, it wouldn't be hard to make one. Giving +2 per time the feat is taken or something like that. Wouldn't be a big deal unless you took it a lot. And even if you did you'd miss out on plenty of other abilities. It's D&D incarnate...

    Monks, Mage-Killing and SR Improving

SS has one but I'm not sure if it only improves racial SR. BoED has one but only works against evil creatures. BoVD has one but only works against good creatures. As it stands, if you're already taking VoP, get the one that works agianst evil creatures. You'll have the 11 bonus exalted...

Against the Shadows VII - A Faded Glory Story Hour (Re-Updated - 5/17)

Well, to be fair, the heros did help with evening the odds. Not completely even by any means. But more so than they were. Lots of melted undead and many a spell drained away. Too bad the kids couldn't hit a couple guys with a rock or two when they were low in HP.

STAR WARS - The Clone Wars - Child of Prophecy FOLDED

Oh, we knew the crystal thing. That wasn't at issue. Simple deduction. No, it just seemed to us that the Padawans used the blue crystals and the Knights used the green. Also note that Luke is handed a blue one first while Ben/Obi is using a green. Later, when he makes his own, he uses...

JollyDoc's Shackled City: FINAL POST [Updated 11/2!!]

Ouch. I've dropped a 9th level Monk to -50 with one of those. They hurt. Of course, we Reincarnated him as a monkey (DM's choice). ;)

STAR WARS - The Clone Wars - Child of Prophecy FOLDED

RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Disco Man's coming! And he's brought his own light show! . . . Okay, rules guru WJ, can you tell me how lightsaber colors work? It always seemed to me that Padawans have blue, Knights and Masters have green, and Mace Windu has purple. We had debated that Masters...

Can those spells still be cast in Antimagic?

Consequences of the Quill (Restored 5/13/06)

The gnome rocks and I'm really getting to know Quercus. The fight scenes are a little scattered though. Try following one character for a few rounds rather than going via inititive. It gets confusing and there's little emoitonal bond.

STAR WARS - The Clone Wars - Child of Prophecy FOLDED

Does he call himself a Jedi Knight or Jedi Master in Clone Wars?

Copperheads: Betrayal and Strange Runes and Burning Dead, oh my (short update 02/12)

A complicated mishap with a Wand of Slow. I'm sure they'll get it sorted out soon.

STAR WARS - The Clone Wars - Child of Prophecy FOLDED

Um, that seems idiotic. Why not just grant the title Jedi Knight at 7th level? Oh, and where's Yoda's padawan?

Surprising, but Pock is already growing on me. He's got just enough questions to draw my attention. Can't wait to hear more.

STAR WARS - The Clone Wars - Child of Prophecy FOLDED

Trust us, a skeleton with a broom can garantee no one will ever shop at that grocery store again. And if they try to deny entrance, well, that's discrimination that is. Undead have rights too. ;)
