4e Neverwinter campaign setting. So many competing factions, lots of political intrigue mixed in with dangerous adventuring locations. It does have some crunch for 4e, but the character themes are all associated with different factions and the mechanics are easily ignored.

That's a pretty nice solution. Have the player (or DM) roll the check in secret so only the DM sees the result, and if they don't get it opened immediately let them continue to work on it minute-by-minute until either it opens or they decide they're sick of it or run out of time.

The 20 cap is probably my favorite thing about this edition. That and super-chunky feats. :cool:

My memory may be fuzzy but wasn't "undead are immune to enchantment spells" the norm at one time? Sacred Bovines.

Not really happy with the return of the wall of text for what should be a simple combat spell, but it's certainly not a deal-breaker. Now instead of casters staring at their power sheets they'll be staring at the PHB. The 4e power format made everything clear-cut, which has its advantages and...

This map appeared in the 4e Neverwinter Campaign Setting, although some locations have been removed and others added, as well as the hex overlay. Highly recommend it as a sandbox campaign location.

I'd just like an option to buy the adventures for home campaign use without all the baggage of organized play attached, thanks. :erm:

I've been using a 22" widescreen touch screen, mounted on a monitor stand directly to the table, at my DMing seat for about 3 years now. About half my group brings a smartphone, PC, or tablet for google docs / DDI compendium access, but the great majority still use physical character sheets...

In my 4e game our houserule is that people who use aid another can contribute their +2 or their d20 result, whichever improves the task leader's result the most. It gets used pretty frequently.

I really don't get the response of "who cares about math?" The point is they've had two years to fix the math and for whatever reason it wasn't done. Yes, people who want to use a greataxe for flavor's sake will continue to do so, but if the math was fixed they wouldn't have to be gimping...

Seconding Neverwinter Campaign Guide. More adventure hooks per square inch than any book I've ever seen. Pretty easy to adapt it to a different world if you're not into FR, too.

I'm hoping <redacted> has "lazy" as a build option. (no, I'm not implying I know what <redacted> is, just hoping).
