    D&D 4E Eberron and 4e - hopes and fears

Eberron is the main concern I have with 4e. I know that some changes will be necessary in order to bring the world into sync with the new rules. I'm hoping that these changes are as few as possible. The lack of rules for artificers, psionics, warforged, shifters, changelings etc... will make it...

Andy Collin's comments re censoring playtester reviews

I am not eager to hear a report from every single playtester. I was interested to hear Ari's opinion because I've seen his work and his tastes seem to be similar to mine. I also know Jon's work and was interested to see what he had to say. I don't know the third poster's work. It was interesting...

    Campaign Length

My current FR Sembia Campaign is in its third year. The characters are now 13th level (and we're finding the mechanics to be oppressive at this level). 3e edition (and 4e will likely be 'worse' in this respect) does not support long campaigns as written, due to the fast rate of advancement. I...

Keep on Shadowfell pre gen PC's

My group will need at least six. Maybe WotC can put a few more up as a web enhancement. I know that they can't print enough character rules to let us build our own characters before the PHB comes out, but five pregens in really too few.

D&D 4E Something for the grognards to like about 4E!

I never stopped using alphanumeric codes for the scenarios I've written. It's a habit I picked up in AD&D. I usually code them based on which storyline will be the alpha story in that particular scenario. It makes it easy to keep my story threads straight.

    D&D 4E Owen Stephens Thoughts on 4e

Thanks for your post. Even if you can't give us any specifics, it is nice to hear from folks who've played the game and liked it. For me, fun is the key. I have always played D&D to have fun. I've had fun in every edition. If the next edition provides an even more fun experience, so much the better.

The Soul of and Drama in D&D

Yes. I have been on a creative wave ever since the publication of R&C, but W&M really whet my appetite. I can't type fast enough to get all of my ideas recorded. I carry a little notebook around with me so that I can jot down every idea that springs to mind. Then I spend hours at night...

Countdown to the Realms: Magic in the Forgotten Realms

I can't agree enough. Every FR post makes me more excited about the changes. My brother in law will be running a 4e Waterdeep campaign shortly after the release of FR 4e.

Countdown to the Realms: Magic in the Forgotten Realms

We are slowly getting a little more information about the spellplague. IMO, it makes more sense, the more information we're given. A lot of folks still won't like it, but seeing it in context is a good thing. I'm more upset over the loss of Maztica than I was over the loss of Unther, but I'm...

Custom Monsters and Races: Chris Perkins says yes you can!

This has been my impression as well. I don't think there has been enough preview material for us to say for sure, however. I'm imagining that the monster itself will have abilities that combine with the monster category, class and level to give us the totality of the statistics. If this is the...

24 (now 29) products announced so far for 08, what else will we see? (Now with 09!)

Yes, there will be a Manual of the Planes? Yes, there will be a Draconomicon? or Yes, there have been unsubstantiated rumors?

D&D 4E My First Scoop - info on 4e Gnolls! [Morrus, is this news worthy?!]

Me too. Gnolls are the main humanoid bad guys in my upcoming 4e campaign.

D&D 4E Green ronin going to do 4e products?

I hope you are. I really enjoy your D&D products. I'm less likely to buy things for other systems, no matter how well done they are. As for 4e D&D, if you make it, I will buy it. Unless you guys start totally sucking.... :p

Custom Monsters and Races: Chris Perkins says yes you can!

This was my personal GM's journey as well. I didn't feel comfortable enough with the system to ignore parts of it until it was too late. I had already become disillusioned with the edition.

DMG & MM: Players Stay Out?

We can talk about should until we're blue in the face. I happy to agree with you on the concept of making magic items, but 3e introduced the concept of the magic mart as the default assumption of the game. I doubt 4e will really change direction on this issue.

Custom Monsters and Races: Chris Perkins says yes you can!

Another ray of hope. As a GM, I need to be able to create monsters of my own. We could in 3e, but I always found the system to be unwieldy and overly complicated. I am hoping for the ability to customize monsters on the fly, like I did in earlier editions. I have to say that I have begun to do...

The Soul of and Drama in D&D

This has always been my take on it as well. The Soul and Drama are provided by the GMs and the players. They do not spring from the rules. The rules exist so that we have an objective guideline to determine success or failure in purely mechanical arenas.

WotC_Rodney on Ari M. and Al Qadim

I would love to see something on all of those old settings as well, even if I don't run them. I think it is inaccurate to say that Wizards killed Planescape. Removing the Great Wheel as the assumed cosmology does nothing to prevent it coming back in particular setting.

    D&D 4E I'm Not Sure I Can Afford 4e

On the other hand, I enjoy reading gaming books. Even if I don't use much out of them, I enjoy the read.
