    D&D 5E (2024) Solasta 2 and the 1/2 elf

Pretending to be someone you are not is bare faced lying. Although we often euphemistically call it "role playing" or "acting". Whatever you call it, getting an extra skill proficiency does not make it any less of a lie.

D&D 5E (2014) Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

Eberron uses core rules, rewriting it's lore to fit. So if core goblins become fey, then so do Eberron goblins.

Diamond Distributors Asks Bankruptcy Court For Ownership of Publishers' Consignment Inventory [UPDATED]

That's because no one who likes RPGs will be able to afford to buy them, given that RPG players are mostly creative types, and therefore will be unemployed.

Diamond Distributors Asks Bankruptcy Court For Ownership of Publishers' Consignment Inventory [UPDATED]

It really aught to push into government and business management, but those people have the power to block AI from replacing them.

    D&D 5E (2024) Solasta 2 and the 1/2 elf

No, Tanis is a human with pointed ears who NPCs react differently to.

    D&D 5E (2024) Solasta 2 and the 1/2 elf

No, you are. A tiefling can have human parents. Or they can have elf parents. Different story, different culture. They do not need different stat blocks to tell it.

D&D 5E (2014) Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

Yeah, goblinoid PCs are a general thing now, not specific to Eberron. If there is a new "general" book they might be updated in that.

    D&D 5E (2024) Solasta 2 and the 1/2 elf

Everything was done to discourage players from playing half orcs in 1st edition, even though they were the only “big guy” trope option. The art was seriously ugly, they were stupid and almost always evil. And assassins were “NPC only” (even though everyone ignored that rule). Gygax included them...

Dragon Delves Dedicated to Chris Perkins

My lot took out an ancient blue dracolich at that level without breaking into a sweat (and had already been through a couple of fights without resting), and they are a bunch of sub-optimisers and tactical duffers. That was the 2014 rules though, are dragons that much tougher in the new rules?

Dragon Delves Dedicated to Chris Perkins

Haven't read the adventure, but I would think a level 12 party would make short work of an ancient blue dragon, without the benefit of a dragon ball.

So, are we not allowed to be critical of the prophet Gibson?

New D&D Unearthed Arcana Reveals Two New Subclasses for Monk and Sorcerer, Plus Revamps For Seven More

I can’t really bring myself to care about these. All I could say is the previous hexblade was better than this one.

    Neuromancer — In Production | Apple TV+

Corporations have been invading countries for centuries. Check out the British East India Company. Evil corporations are not a new thing, it’s a bit disingenuous to suppose they would be any better than nation states.

D&D General [rant]The conservatism of D&D fans is exhausting.

I'm not incredulous, I know people play D&D lots of different ways. I've been round a long time, and I pay attention. I am incredulous that anyone feels the need to argue that their way is in any way better.

D&D General [rant]The conservatism of D&D fans is exhausting.

Well, someone is authoring, who do you say it is? I don't do that. And that's how I've played D&D for 43 years.

    Neuromancer — In Production | Apple TV+

“Was once prescient” does not carry over when translation to a new medium introduces a work to a new audience. Being first won’t prevent it from appearing derivative.

    D&D 5E (2024) Solasta 2 and the 1/2 elf

I mean, that was part of Gygax's attempt to impose humancentricity on the game. I think we can safely assume that would be any of the ones that were not in 1st edition, because this is really all about neophobia and resistance to change.

    D&D 5E (2024) Solasta 2 and the 1/2 elf

I suspect it's a lot older, at least in concept. For example: Iolanthe - Wikipedia. I can't remember the exact text, but I'm pretty sure elf and fairy are used interchangeably in that source. Which raises the key question: which half is elf, the top or the bottom?

    D&D 5E (2024) Solasta 2 and the 1/2 elf

I've heard the "gather your party" quote in contexts so far removed from D&D that it's clear the person using it has no idea as to its origin. And of course, we've had politicians talking about "levelling up" for a while, without knowing were it comes from.

    D&D 5E (2024) Solasta 2 and the 1/2 elf

BG3 lets you select from two different types of drow. They have different cosmetic options, and some NPCs react differently depending on your choice, but there is no mechanical difference whatsoever. No reason Solasta2 couldn't do something similar for half elves.
